I endeavor to spend my days doing things that matter to me and make me happy. I enjoy singing, reading, and being outdoors. I love crochet, and crafts in general. I want to know how everything works. Puzzles delight me. I am a stubborn optimist; if life refuses to give me what I want, I will find some other way to carve out my measure of happiness. Of course, I have bad days too, and some days I can't find that optimism, but if I don't succeed today, I'll try again tomorrow.

I write about day to day life, the people in my life, my various interests and thoughts about things. I also love thefridayfive, and answer almost every week.

I like making new friends and getting to know each other. My journal is 99% public, so you can take a look around and get a good indication of whether or not we'd get along. I like answering questions, so if you are curious about anything, ask away!

Before you add me, please consider: I have no interest in reading about politics. I do care about things, but I feel that constant complaining is not worth my time. Venting may feel satisfying, but it also spreads negativity, and being upset without a means to *do* something about the situation, it does more harm than good. I think the most beneficial thing I can do is to spread kindness. Maybe it won't change the world, but improving someone's day could make a world of difference for that person, and I think that's worth more than all the moralizing out there.
