Please help me find this fic, I've looked everywhere and I can't find it.

I'm not sure, but I think Jim is not part of the enterprise, because he and Spock never met before. He gets stranded in a ship or something but for some reason cannot be reached or beamed up?

Anyways, the only way of communcation is through radio and as the days pass Spock grows attached to Jim.

I think at some point they bring Frank to talk to him and that makes Jim cut of the communication and Spock nearly freaks out. 

it's medium/long and takes place on a frozen planet which is having either temperature or seismic issues. perspective of both kirk and spock. they're making a diplomatic visit, or maybe there was a request for aid. jim is in currently unrequited love with spock, who is still with noyta. 

the princess(?) of the planet is an old friend of jim's from the academy, where she was studying diplomacy. her species is humanoid but I believe with black skin and gold eyes. they wear a lot of jewels, as their planet is mineral-rich--the princess's little sister has a giant sapphire ring which becomes a plot point later. 

in an early chapter, pre-mission, jim is watching spock and nyota take a walk in the snow from a hotel window/balcony, and calls spock sweetheart in his head. spock becomes jealous of jim's friend on the mission. he realizes he will need to end things with uhura when he next sees her on the ship. 

at one point two groups become lost/separated in fragile ice catacombs while investigating. there ends up being unexpected betrayal, slave labor of some volcanic subterranean subspecies, and a giant bomb. it's gorgeously and maturely written, an amazing fic. 

I would have sworn the author had some form of "natalie" in their ao3 username and/or a pop-art user icon image of a crying woman, but i've searched endlessly with no luck. there might be a reference to stars or planets or space in the name, but i'm not certain and that's hardly a distinctive detail. i think this fic was the author's only trek/spirk work.

So this is driving me a bit crazy but I'm looking for a hurt/comfort fic where Jim has sex with an alien species as part of a diplomatic exchange? Unknowingly, Jim gets "impregnated", but as it turns out, he can't "birth" the baby (but I don't think it's like actually a baby? McCoy seems to describe it more as a parasite). McCoy then gets on a shuttle with Kirk to go back to the planet to see what can be done and it ends with them realizing that it's the sunlight of the planet that allows the aliens on that planet to reproduce? So McCoy has to cut Kirk open to let the sunlight penetrate him and there's a bit where painkillers have no effect on Kirk. It ends with them discovering that someone who hates Kirk (Marcus?) in Star Trek command told the aliens that Kirk wanted to have sex and the aliens are very regretful.  

Any help would be much appreciated!
