20-09-2026:

• Implemented new battery estimation that should now work with Tundra trackers, SlimeVR trackers, and devices powered by AA batteries such as Touch controllers. (This will cause 'Calibrating battery monitoring' to be visible on the wrist until you've done a 50% cycle of each connected device, sorry about that - Old data was affected by a few issues so it couldn't be reused)

• Windows notifications in Arabic are no longer... Reversed? (This was a thing apparently, but we just use the raw notification title/body from the Windows API sooooo... huh?)

• Fixed cursor position issues caused by a recent SteamVR update.

• Fixed missing bindings warnings caused by controllers being powered off.

• Fixed 'Window toggle binding' setting remaining on 'Both hands' when the SteamVR binding for one of the hands has been removed.

Important note:

I've tried to gather what feedback I can regarding the new battery time estimation but without many users beta testing OVR Toolkit it's rather hard to get more than maybe 5 to 10 different people's opinions on how well this is working. They say this is working fine and values look similar to before, and I see that reflected on my own devices, but like... There's a chance it's busted? Good luck, I suppose? Let me know how it's working for you in the replies to this post or via Discord once your devices have calibrated. ^^'

Hi all,

The latest SteamVR public branch update has some issue it seems, they've been informed and I'm working to provide them with info from users experiencing these issues.

If you're having these issues and would like to help out, feel free to join us on Discord and help perform some testing/provide some log files!

For those who just want to use OVR Toolkit without issue...

• Turn off 'Sharpen image before encoding' in the Steam Link settings in SteamVR Settings > Steam Link.

• Set the 'Overlay Render Quality' setting to 'High' in SteamVR Settings > Video.

If overlays don't appear at all or you want full-quality overlays again... I'd suggest using the 'Previous' branch of SteamVR until the issue is resolved.

Just a reminder, if you do revert your SteamVR branch remember to switch back to 'Default' another time, being on an outdated branch can cause other issues don't the line. ^^'

Thanks everyone, apologies for the issues here.

Hopefully they get it figured out soon!
