HelixVision

HelixVision

So, I shouldn't get this with an up-to-date gaming PC?
That's unfortunate

If your computer has a 3000 series video card, it's not a good match. But it will also depend upon what you want to play.

DX9 games, OpenGL games, and Vulkan games will still work. But DX11 games are currently locked out, because the last driver we can currently use is 452.06.

Last best video card for 3D Vision is 2080ti which is roughly comparable performance to a 3080.
I already have a 3080, so I could play DX9 games on it, still?

You can. We can install the 3D Vision driver, and fix the version match. DX9 games then still work because it's a different code path altogether in the nvidia driver.

Depends upon the DX9 games though. Although 3D Vision fixes will work, the HelixVision compatibility to get them the last step into VR is not as good. Somewhere around 50% of the DX9 games we try can make it the last step into VR.

If you let me know what games are interesting, I can take a look to see if they work or not.

BTW- we will soon have an experimental version of SuperDepth3D_VR+ that will work to bring any DX11 game into VR, but using z-3D instead of geo-3D.
oh interesting! Yeah, I'll look into this. I haven't figured any game in particular i"d like in 3d atm, I'm just messing around in VR right now as its my first headset. Back in the day, I used my 3d vision glasses on every game I could.

You might also find it interesting to experiment with my latest build off Reshade that converts SuperDepth3D into the VR view.

That will work on any driver, and any video card including 3000 series and AMD. Completely experimental, but might be worth a look.

If you want to see what the environment looks like, you can run our Demo version which also works on all video cards including the 3000 series. It just shows stereo screen shots, but can give you a good idea what it looks like.

I might give it a look if I'm willing to get into the technical stuff again, definitely.
