HelixVision

HelixVision

Installed game not recognized
I have 'Far lone sails' installed on steam, but helixvision refuses to acknowledge it.
App is set to hacker mode, steam library is present in search locations, search depth is on 3 (game is within a subfolder of the regular install location), as far as I can tell it should be able to find it, but won't. Other steam games are found just fine.
Any fixes/workarounds?

To answer my own question, moving the game files up into the parent folder made it detectable, must be a bad profile.
The 3d fix makes the game crash on startup though so I guess that's that.

That does look like a bad profile there.

You can't move the game files into the parent folder, that will break the game and how all the mechanisms work. They typically use strict relative paths, and thus being in new locations makes them not find files they need.

In the profile - you can edit the profile and fix this. In my version, the Install Folder Name is blank. You should set that to the name of the root folder for the game directory.

If the game files and fix need to be a lower folder, that's what the RelativeInstallPath is for. You add the extra pieces of the path to find the game.

All items marked with asterik* need to be filled in for the game to be found and show in the UI.
Just to clarify, this isn't my custom profile, it's the "official" built-in one, wherever that comes from.
As for moving the game files, it's a unity game, it generally doesn't care where the files are as long game.exe and game_data folder move together.

Understood. Sorry I wasn't clear, we'll fix the built in profile in upcoming builds, but you can just edit and fix it now if you like. You can just add the proper paths there and not need to move the game location. Thanks for the bug report.
