A paradox mod banned me permanently for "pirating" the game I own with all dlc's, abusing the rule about asking about pirated games.
Paradox sin elite liker ikke å bli fortalt hvor ræva dårlige de egentlig er til å lage spill. :D
You see, they want to hide this fact since it's the current thing to stan Ukraine.

Ha, the way this is worded, he's making it sound like Russians actually get preferential treatment. Whatever he said that got him banned, it must've been actually extreme, because we all know how sensitive American Big Tech / social media have generally become on this issue, as they always err on the side of suppressing any pro-Russian viewpoint while propping up the anti-Russian narrative.

First: a basic history lesson. In 1941, when this game is set, there was no "Russia" or "Ukraine" -- there was one giant country called the Soviet Union. In fact, the Ukraine never in the history of the universe existed as a recognized state until 1991, when it was granted statehood as a result of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. In 1941, the only people who supported Ukrainian independence from the USSR were a small group of separatists, literal nazi-sympathizers and collaborators of Hitler, e.g. Stepan Bandera. By the way, Bandera is seen as "the father of the Ukraine" by Ukrainian nationalists, even though his SS division was directly responsible for slaughtering tens of thousands of ethnic Polish, Jewish, Hungarian, Russian, and other civilians. That's why today's Ukraine is a bona fide haven for neo-nazis -- Ukrainian statehood owes all of its history and its "heroes" to anti-Soviet, pro-nazi terror and genocide of civilian populations.

That's a short primer to help understand why you play as the Soviets in this game -- because that includes Russians, Ukrainians (as one of the characters clearly speaks the Ukrainian dialect), Kazakhs, and countless other nationalities united against the nazi invasion and systematic genocide of the USSR.

Second: Why does he assume that people are obligated to be sympathetic to his show of prejudice, xenophobia, and racism against Russians as an entire people? He thinks he can come in, bark bigoted russophobic slogans, and have everyone stand and clap for him? No wonder why people are so sick of this presumptuous attitude demonstrated around the world by the banderite ingrates over the last year and a half, when their neo-nazi "cause" suddenly became popular to peddle everywhere.

Keep Steam clear of this kind of political manipulation!

How is this in any way prejudice, xenophobia, and racism ?

Im not sure what proppaganda train you are running when, you assume that " Whatever he said that got him banned, it must've been actually extreme"

No it was not, i said "you play as russians"

ofc. you think im lying, so here is a screenshot of the banned review, so you can see how extreeme it was - https://i.imgur.com/VZnT0Km.png

If you publically recommended against playing a game, and your only "justification" was that "in this game, you play as Americans", that would certainly be prejudice and discrimination. Such an "argument" implies that there are nationalities / ethnicities which are somehow unworthy of being represented in media. The fact that you think this is OK is very indicative of how your mind works -- amazingly similar to the nazis whom you worship.

Just look at the time for the edit and then at the time of your post... enough said.
but since you take the role of the victim here, i made another screenshot just for you - https://i.imgur.com/vt3sqZl.png
Thanks for proving my point. You think I'd be able to write a detailed post in less than six minutes? It's clear that I was responding to your original post, which didn't include your screenshot (which also doesn't disprove my suspicion that you're flagged as an "activist" with a history of such provocations, and that's why you're being watched more closely than the typical Steam member).

Actually you are the racist here, seeing racism where there is none, i even told you why i wrote and rated as i did, and still you keep arguing that this is racism. (also russia isnt a race btw.)
"You're a racist, because you see racism where there is no racism!". Go back and repeat logic school. You outright say that people of a certain ethnicity / nation should be discriminated against.

But you're right -- "Russian" isn't a race. It's a very broad nationality, like "American". And Ukrainians are a subset of Russians, just like Pennsylvanians are a subset of Americans. It's funny that it comes as a huge revelation for you to realize that in a game set in WWII, when you play as the "Russians", you actually play as a ton of other ethnicities and races, including "Ukrainians".

You just made a really good argument for why this review isnt racistic, ty.

Anyway, i proved you wrong like 3 times already, im not gonna waste more energy on this debate with you. I told you i ment no racism with it, like 3 times already and explained why i wrote and voted as i did, yet you keep saying its racism. Thats on you buddy, not me.

Just like you kept saying that " Whatever he said that got him banned, it must've been actually extreme".. just until i posted a screenshot of my review.

Sorry to revive this but a lie was detected.

The Ukrainian People's Republic had autonomy and recognition in 1917.

Thanks for reading.

Side note: humans regularly fail to grasp the concepts of nations and states. Take the Choctaw Nation, for example. It is "recognized and autonomous" but it is also "domestically dependent" at this current stage in history.

I'm eminently aware of the difference between "state" and "country" / "nation", etc. That's why I used the word "state", which is historically accurate -- the first time in human history that a Ukrainian state was formed was in 1991, as a direct result of the USSR's breakup.

I don't appreciate you calling this a "lie", because it's an absolute, honest, historical fact.

In the period between 1917 and 1922 or so, the former Russian Empire experienced a lot of territorial changes and uncertainty. Some regions which temporarily broke off declared their independence, and the Ukraine (which was much smaller then than its territory today) had a secessionist faction also. You say it was "recognized" -- can you list for us which powers recognized its independence?

To put it into perspective, the United States refused to recognize the USSR as a state all the way up until 1933. The US also didn't recognize mainland China (PRC) as "China" until decades after WWII, preferring to recognize Taiwan as "true China", even in UN representation. The lack of recognition didn't change the reality that these were powerful players on the world stage. And even if the "Ukrainian People's Republic" had been recognized by anyone in 1917, it wouldn't change the fact that it didn't represent the views of the majority of the local population, and only "existed" for several months in separatists' minds.
