Borealis Gardens Undetected + Wrench Run Question
Is there any way to kill the Plant Mutants without making them detect you + doing it without ruining a Wrench run?

Just asking if you can hit them at an specific spot, otherwise, I'll just abandon one and continue with the game.

I didn't aim for this achievement, but my best advice is never run or like ever produce any noise and ignore them. But of course you can distract them I suppose.

I assume they are blind, but can probably detect flashlight and react much faster to the noise in comparison to other enemies. Cloak will not save you for sure.
I just discovered that they're very much prone to acid puddles. So you can just spray one under them and they'll die off eventually

Same thing with the babies. Pretty handy and keeps you unfound and wrench-friendly

Environmental kills are real nice, yeah. In doing some testing as prep for a "pacifist" run: Basically any damage over time effect, regardless of your involvement in it, do not count as "your" kills, including flare gun DoT (but be careful with the flare gun, since the projectile itself does do damage, especially upgraded to max, and if *it* lands the final blow, even if it's because the enemy's standing right on the flare without your input, that *does* count as your kill). Likewise, any kill made by a Steve unit, whether mounted or as the cleaner bot, doesn't count as your kill either, so turning them friendly is the way to go, as soon as possible whenever you can.

Thank you for this. I assume steam from the red pipes and circuit boxes also don't count as 'kills'.

I haven't gotten anything to walk into steam (mostly because I shut it off so as not to kill myself on it), but can confirm the circuit boxes don't count as your fault, even if you spray a puddle straight to the enemy's feet before triggering it.
As others have noted above; Universal Cleaner Acid puddles work wonders there.
In addition, you should know that there is a junction box near the 2 Mothmanauts and I would highly advise looking around for the 2 small boxes. The noise detection radius scales directly with high high the box is dropped from AND you can throw it without moving and alerting even while you are close to the PlantHeads.
Using a combination of these, you can even trap the entrance to the water groove and eliminate the 4 standing in the water there.
Similarly, in most crowded areas, you can simply drop "1" puddle and then lure the barbaric inhabitants over for conserving resources.
Thanks y'all for the help! I manage to dispatch them all with well-placed acid puddles and also acid flare gun shots (the acid killed them, so it didn't forfeit the achievent).
