Hows the performance?
My specs are the minimum and i know it says 30 fps on low but i was wondering if its really that bad?

RTX 3060 and Intel i3-12100F with 32 GB of RAM can run it at like 70-90 FPS with most of settings set to "medium" and the rest set to "minimum". The DLSS option is set to "Performance" (there's also ultra performance option, but that's when it starts to actually look worse than AC7).
And with the settings that I use it looks better than AC7.

Even with lots of happening during the mission I never really noticed any huge FPS drops, so never below 60 (with 2-3 exceptions, in all these cases for only 2-4s, but it didn't affect the gameplay).
The only place where you can have FPS drops are the cutscenes, they also run so much worse than the actual missions.

I would say that that their "Minimum" specs can run it at 60 FPS with the lowest settings unless RTX 2060 is really that much worse than 3060.
I also have a 3060, but haven't gotten to my main PC yet (nor installed).

How does the game look worse than AC7 on ultra performance?

I was thinking in decreasing resolution to 720p, locking to 30fps, use low textures detail, but up some effects a bit. If the game actually has faster screen motion, or requires reflexes, then I'll cap to 60fps. But I'm on a laptop, and I'm afraid to push it too much, since I'll be playing this for hours on weekends.

When I played AC7 on a 950m, the worst part was how the shadows had low res. Then I played on a 2050, basically maxed, and the shadows/resolution are the only things that I noticed we improved. The overall composition looked the same.

You are upscaling the game from some really low resolution, everything gets very blury in a bad way.

"Performance" is quite decent from my point of view, but "Ultra" is just too much.

1080p

This is how I play it and it still can look gorgeous.
Clouds still look good and better than in other flight games like IL-2 Korea or War Thunder.

Anyway, as I said it runs fine on RTX 3060 (the PC variant).

Laptop 3060 here, really hover around 30fps in Performance, dips to 20 a lot, even with everything else on low. I have no choice but run in Ultra Performance.
I think even Performance looks bad but Ultra Perf is awful.
Idk if there's really that much of a gap between the PC and laptop 3060, or if there's something wrong on my end (for the rest: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, 16GB RAM)
Ace Combat 8 is an amazing game, but is also a VERY demading one. It's more demanding than other Unreal Engine 5 games such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, Black Myth Wukong, Hellblade II, Lords of The Fallen, Silent Hill 2 Remake, among others.

It's arguably the most demanding UE5 game available at the moment. Some people are also talking about the game having a possible memory leak problem, but there's nothing confirmed about this at the moment.

Untrue, it is less demanding than Black Myth and Halo Remake though not by much for Halo (only in some scenes) and there is a lot more going on in AC than Halo.

I played all the games I mentioned. I can run Halo: Campaign Evolved at the highest settings on my PC just fine. That's not the case for Ace Combat 8.

Must be something wrong with your system then.
Laptop RTX3070, runs good here, sometimes random stuttering but it only lasts a few seconds and then goes away, its rare and doesn't cause an issue

I can run Ace Combat 8 fine if I put everything on Medium. That's not the case for the other games I mentioned earlier, where I can just play them at their hightest settings (or somewhat close to them) without issues.
People on reddit reported two settings that you could turn down that will give you a dramatic performance uplift: Cloud Quality, and Reflection Quality. Reflections are super important in cockpit view, because your canopy glass and HUD glass bounce light off each other.

You'll have to tweak these settings and find the sweet spot you're comfortable with. Remember, it's not even day 1 yet, so there will probably be a day 1 patch and game ready drivers soon enough.
Specs:
Intel Core I5-13600k (undervolted pulling 5.5ghz)
32gb DDR5 ram 6000hz cl:30
Samsung pro 1tb NVME SSD
RTX 3070 8gb

Running the game on ultra, with some setting set to high and med, pulling 50-60fps, until a memory leak happens
DLSS set to Quality
on 1440p
another unoptimized crap
On a 3060, the game will look like a vaseline smear in order for it to be enjoyable.
Shadows and clouds are the real performance-killers for me.

If you turn clouds, shadows, reflections, and global illumination down to Low, performance can actually be okay - I get around 70 on a 4080 SUPER + X3D on Linux at 3440x1440p native + DLAA, though it does dip as low as 30 in heavy scenes if I don't turn effects down, too. I also turn post-processing down to low because it reins in the chromatic aberration effect. Reflections on Low also fixes shimmering/breakup on the canopies that happens because of RT resolution/gathering, presumably by disabling RT on those surfaces (except they actually look better this way).

Model and texture quality settings have virtually no impact on performance for me.
