"Please close ACE-BASE before launching"
Wtf is this? I have to restart my PC every time this appears because it won't let me launch the game.

What is ACE-BASE? The game isn't launched, nothing in my task manager that i see, I do not understand what this is that prevents the game from launching on my PC

I think it might be an anti cheat used by a different game interferes with easy anti cheat used by ace combat.
Same problem. I cannot launch the game at all. WTF. Anyone here can help? So stupid.
ok, a solution has been found everyone!!!

Open your command prompt and run as administrator.

Type in (without quotes obviously...):

"sc query ace-base" hit enter

If you see it say that it is "RUNNING" then type...

"sc stop ace-base" and hit enter.

Now you can launch the game!

Were you selecting to run it as administrator? Windows is weird where unless you specifically tell something to run like that, it won't, and that limits what the program can do.

Worst-case simply rebooting your PC will fix it too, though that's a bit of a pain. You can also write a batch file and run it as administrator to kill the process - just paste that line to close the process into a notepad document, save it *specifically* with a .bat extension (so change the .txt box to "all files" and type in .bat at the end of your file name,) and then right-click the file and hit run as administrator.

If it still says you're denied access, then something might be up with your PC somehow limiting access to what you can do somewhere along the line. You might have to go to google for that one since the number of things it could be are numerous.

Worked wonderfully. Thank you. It's a shame this even has to be done though.
Ace Base is another kernel level anti cheat that easy anti cheat flags as a conflict. So disable that service or uninstall the game that uses Ace Base.

Ace Combat 8 launches that each time the game is launched and it does not disable it when you close the game properly or through alt f4.

And it will refuse to launch if it detects ace-base open. Ace-base is from AC8 though, so can't really uninstall the game that uses it lol

I uninstalled the game using ace base and now I can't open AC8.
Because that's the game using ace base,
For me it was Nikke which runs Anti cheat expert and that does not play nice with this games anti cheat, for whatever reason. Running the above command works, but because it's a kernal level thing it's a ♥♥♥♥♥ to turn off once it's been run once.
Ace Base is not used by Ace Combat... It's used by other games. I'm running AC8 without that service on my computer or it running.
