not really, love the ps5 controller adaptive triggers/haptics on this game though. Only get a flight stick if you're gonna be playing a lot more plane games

Games play better with controller. They are too fast paced and flight controllers are two slow and sluggish for that type of gameplay. And locking your camera to the enemies by holding (X/Y) is paramount. Which is awkward with flight controllers. The only reason to use flight controller is if you decide to do vr mod.

If you play it in VR and in first person , the answer is yes

But since AC 8 have no VR i dont think should use HOTAS

Yeah, if they had VR support it would be really immersive and neat because you can look around instead of turning the camera. The few PSVR missions in 7 were amazing with HOTAS.

Also in 7 there is a mod that let you play the entire campaign with VR, if you have VR headset man i suggest you try it
