ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE

Ace Combat 8 is basically Persona 5 with planes (+ talk about references to other games)
how?

- First of all, the smoking gun. The main character(s) is called Joker and the main enemies are called Shadows. This seems too close for it to all just be a coincidence.

- Second of all, social media is a main plot point in both games. AC8 has the Wings of Theve and their social media account, while P5 has the Phantom Thieves and the Phan-Site. Theve. Thieves. Get it? They are both managed by someone with connection to each group. (D.D. and Mishima respectively)

- Thirdly, you get to command your own team. Wingmen, party members, however you call them, pretty much the same concept.

- Fourthly, both games' stories focus on different kinds of social issues and certain parts of AC8's story have lots of things in common with P5's story. I do not want to spoil the stories of either of these games so I will just leave it at that.

Honestly, it felt like there are a lot of video game references in the game. Metal Gear, in particular.

The protagonist is Rex / Ray, names of two Metal Gears from MGS1 and MGS2

D.D., the voice of the FCU also shares the initials with the Diamond Dogs and their mascot D.D., a one-eyed wolf from Metal Gear Solid V.

The protagonist is un unknown person who takes up the moniker of "The Wings of Theve" when the original dies, much like the player in Metal Gear Solid V who takes on the persona of Venom Snake after the real Snake is in hiding.

Thats a great analysis, I haven't played any Metal Gear game so that's why
The A-6 Intruder mission has references to "Flight of the Intruder" novel / movie. Including concern over a sniper.
