even if your not a sonic fan it's still 2 really good games and you'll have a fun time with it

This package includes two games.
One is a "remaster" of Sonic Generations. and the other is a whole new game Shadow Generations. Some claim that it's like a DLC, but I disagree, it's massive and deserves to be treated like its own Sonic game, especially since numerous mainline games are shorter than this,

Anyway, I called Sonic Generations remaster in quotes, because it is unplayable... No matter what I do, it has massive lag spikes, even in the main menu... From what I found out many people cannot make it playable as well, so Sega delisted the original from individual purchase and slapped this broken remaster... I would give it not recommended, but the other game works perfectly fine and very smoothly so this recommendation is exclusive for Shadow Generations.

Shadow Generations is surprisingly good. You get a mini open world with tons of collectable. The design is an absolute mess, but it somehow works and it is fun exploring and navigating in this unhinged world.
The mainline story is quite long for a Sonic game, though it is on the short side if compared to non-Sonic video games. As expected there's tons of challenges and other activities as well. What really impressed me is that it plays pretty much the same as Sonic Generations, but the original Sonic Generations had broken controls which often would not work, or the objects that should have trigger marker on them, would not trigger the marker on them when you are within range. While I do not know whether these problems persist in this remaster, but they certainly do not in this new Shadow game. The controls work flawlessly and I did not encounter any non-triggering objects. My main complaint about this game is that flying with wings is very difficult, and I still cannot figure out how exactly it works, but flying is not fun and works at random. Another issue which was also present in Sonic Generations which stayed is that sometimes you cannot perform boost after jumping, or after boosting many times in a row. I do not understand how it works, maybe there is a limit to the allowed boosts in a row, or some time gap when you cannot boost after some specific jumps, but I dislike it, and I do not think it's a glitch. Nevertheless, Shadow Generations was a lot of fun.

7/10

Pretty good. I liked playing Sonic Generations on Xbox and this was a faithful remaster for the most part. Shadow's story was also pretty fun, if not a little edgy. Still, I find Shadow's gameplay a good evolution of Sonic's honestly. The only thing I would say I disliked was that there were parts in Sonic Generations that were rewritten, which while not a real issue, I found kind of jarring. Overall, this is a worthwhile package to experience some of the best of what Sonic has to offer.
