Теперь часть студии работает над новой игрой, так что ничего необычного в том что длс с этой версией может и не быть. Кстати раньше каждая версия игры добавляла контент на тему длс а тут у нас только оптимизация что тоже намекает на отсутсвие длс

I don't expect the new game to be similar to RimWorld, so I am hoping there's a DLC announcement coming soon. They only announce DLC a couple weeks beforehand, so if they plan to run this 1.7 beta for like a month they might not say anything until half way through. That's probably wishful thinking on my part, it's hard for me to get around the fact they teased a new game but not a new DLC, which very strongly suggests no DLC.

It's really going to be interesting seeing how they're going to manage the two games.

Teasing the new game without saying anything about a DLC also makes me feel pessimistic.

However, the switch to a new engine for Rimworld and the announcement of a new game (which will most likely be different)
suggest that they will continue to support Rimworld and increases the likelihood of future DLC.

Well. I am pretty sure they will continue to produce more DLC's.
The way Rimworld makes money is by selling DLC's. So as long as DLC's sell, they will produce them. And I think Odyssey sold fairly well as a DLC.

They might be making a new game to diversity. You do not want to be like Bethesda and can only make one type of game. It gets dangerous when you start to fall off and the formula gets stale.

New game teaser might be it for rimworld I'd asssume we are slowly entering the sunset period of the game it will probably continue to get bug fixes but main develpoment time will shift towards greener pastures.

Which is fair, we should be grateful that this game recieved such long term support to begin with 13 years of active development is more than most devs spend on a single project.

I just skimmed through the 1.7 files, there's almost no changes at all to the xml and zero references I could find to another DLC or any gameplay changes. They've either done a much better job than normal keeping the DLC and 1.7 update separate, or there's really nothing else coming at this time. Like with the 1.6 beta there were all sorts of references to Odyssey in it, including stuff not revealed like Starjacks. It is entirely possible to have layered dev branches and keep these things separate and hidden, they just haven't done so in the past and it's just another thing to note that's making a DLC announcement seem less likely.

Maybe after testing the new update, they decided to drop a new DLC. Who knows? If not, well... then maybe next year. I was also waiting for a new DLC, but they did a huge job porting the game to a new engine. The game works much smoother and faster now. This opens new doors for future DLCs to be much more massive.

Im guessing that there wont be a DLC in the usual timeframe since they probably had people working on the engine instead. Not to mention the new game.

Maybe. Maybe for now we`ll get a new updates with new futures, instead of DLC`s pattern. We`ll see

Also if they were to release a dlc now it would coincide with GTA 6, since they usually release a month after its announced.
That would be a really bad idea
