When should you use the assault class(thompson) as opposed to the support class(BAR)?
I would like to make the distinction between realistic mode(no respawns) and arcade/casual(multiple respawns, little to no tactics involved) and receive two different answers for these two different modes of the game.

When you shoot at a wall with this weapon, then you will realise that it is along with the MP40 the only ones with a complete random spread pattern, well or a much wider spread pattern then any other weapon and it tends to make random headshots. Its not called "noob" weapon for no reason by many. But now imagine what a very skilled player can do with it, a player who learns this spread pattern and its optimal engaging range. It can be very devastating, because you are so mobile with it, while having such a high fire rate and making headshots on the run litterly. The smoke nade dont seem much at first, but if used wisely (not like it is in 99% of the cases), it can be a huge support for the team to make a breaktrough against an mg and sniper defense on last flag for example. Maybe its true and every good player would choose an M1 or BAR over it all the time. But i would not underestimate this gun. I have seen some players rocking with it like crazy ;-)
I would say thompson on cqb maps or when you have to rush a point towards the end and BAR if you are holding a point or on more open maps because its semi auto mode can be devastating

is the semiauto mode actually good? never used it much myself since I keep missing with it unlike with full auto or using the rifles or smgs
