Genuine question for genuine veteran 200y old FO4 players 🙋🏻‍♂️
I simply would like to know if there is a way to recruit once again a companion that decided to leave you permanently. Already tried many console commands provided by the damn Grok. They agree to follow at some point but they are just wandering around after that. They refuse to be my companion again no matter what.

Is there a mod that could reset them and make them following me again? Or maybe a combination of console commands that actually works?

Thanks! Hope I was clear enough 😊

Interesting question. One I don't know the answer to, since I have never lost a companion. Might be some console command for it. The list above with the link has them.

But using the console can really mess up your game if you are not careful and know what you are doing. And cause issues to get baked into a save game which you may not noticed until much later.
In order to get dumped you need to reach very deep negative affinity with your companion.

After that point there is no way to increase it as you can have no further interaction with them. Even travelling with them increases the affinity slowly.. but nothing to do once you break up..

But you can alter ca_affinity value of an actor with the console,

click on them or PRID their RefID (you may find them from fandom fallout4 https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_4_companions

setav ca_affinity 0

will just neutralize your relation.. (may need reloading the cell)
but if they became hostile beforehand you may need some extra steps..
Who is the companion? Is it Preston Garvey after doing Nuka World? Or is it a mod companion?

How did you manage that?!
usually, companions piss me off. Never pissed off a companion before.
Sounds like a good story .. how did you piss off ( ehr upset ) both Cait and Piper ?
Faction Maintenance is a mod that helps you restore your companions rep, as well as making the different reps stop killing you on sight

It is on both Nexus and in the bethesda's creation mod list I believe
Aside from becoming enemies with the associated faction, I didnt even know this could happen. O_O

Every companion has stuff they don't like. Drop their affinity enough and they turn hostile. Under normal circumstances, you won't ever manage to make them angry unless you do something really bad like murdering a settler.

You have to murder a lot of settlers, hehe

From the POV inside the FO4 game: Think about this sensibly.

In real life, if you behaved contrary to the feelings of another individual, and they left you, then you're thinking of a solution that permanently binds themselves to be with you in a relationship, not even intending to be romantic. You want them to be your friend (or whatever, if possibly a romantic interest).

That's not a relationship.

That is 100% toxic. And in most cases, a legal action against you if proven to be found abusive, even if you never physically interacted with the other. In other words, the person ("NPC") came to dislike you intensely, but you can't accept their decision, and you're FORCING them to be around you. Your intentions are NOT good.

Just saying. However. we are talking from the POV from being inside the game; therefore, it's ok to be morally ambiguous or even evil.

If I were you, two solutions:

1) Move on in that current game.

2) Start a new game and figure out the gameplay you want with the NPC you want that leads to the positive outcome you're wanting.

- OR -

For sh*ts and giggles and IF you are playing evil or morally ambiguous, find mods and use them to turn your NPC "interest" into a prostitute or a slave. If you wish to interact with the NPC to the point of treating them like dirt, that's your business.

Bonus points if you did the slaver/prostitute route and you hum "Every Breath You Take" to yourself whilst you follow your NPC "interest" around. XD
