What mod is making codsworth human?
Anybody else experiencing this?
I only have creation club mods installed and none of them effect codsworth but for some reason after exiting the vault he's a regular dude in a suit which kinda ruins my immersion, especially since it still makes the thruster sounds

The only mod I can find easily is 10 full years old and was never really functional, online. And the mod maker for it closed commenting and has never revisited the mod again.

I would suggest just ... don't. You say that you have mods but you don't say WHICH ones, which will very, VERY much be important for this....

I'm not typing out my entire mod list i just know nothing on it is causing this, I've disabled every mod that effects npcs and he still isn't back to normal

It would almost have to be something on it that causing it. As you seem to be the lone isolated case anywhere, that has ever had this happen.

Weird af but i guess it doesn't matter too much because i just discovered were gonna get yet another unnecessary update that will no doubt ♥♥♥♥ up every mod i have anyway.

Though I dont mod myself(excluding NG and AE stuff), I have heard that disabling, or even straight up removing mods, does not always undo what they did. Especially with something like a texture or model swap.

Does this apply to every playthrough or just my current one?
Because I'm not very far in yet so i could just restart with all mods disabled
You can use FO4Edit to check your files for any references in yellow for Codsworth.
Mods bake in certain data into every character, thus disabling a mod, may not disable the change, and worse can lead to game breaking errors down the road due to missing entries (the missing mods) the save game data array..

Starting a new game after you disable mods is the only way to find an "error" caused by a mod.

NOTE:
This type of error comes from multiple places -but usually doesn't affect Coddsworth!

Any mod that increases spawn numbers, or the number of spawn points can cause this (the most common being a rad roach "raider", the next most common is the bloat fly "ghoul")

Any mod/mods that change the looks of a characters in mass can cause this. (generally mods that edit a single character are good) .

Because its Coddsworth, any mods that alter Robots, or Synths could affect him -including clothing or weapons addons.

LASTLY:

This could also just be a simple case of a bad load order. If you are using a mod manager, you can try moving the mods around a bit, or use LOOT to do so..

If you are just relying on Bethesda to handle the load order.... *shudders*... well I would start to hope and pray that LOOT can do the job, because if it can't that means you get to juggle the files manually through their text system.

LOOT = Load Order Optimization Tool.
Just type that into google to get the github for it.
I feel your pain, but I must admit this sounds hilarious!
Just like the occasional Minutemen Roaches on Patrol.
You can also use the mod organizer to export your load list in order, if you learn how to use it correctly. If all you're using is Bethesda's ingame system, maybe take a screenshot of the folder where your CC mods are stored, with just the names and any other info cropped out of it (like your folder structure, computer name etc...).

But yes load order IS important, and WHICH mods ARE important.

The bugs that were reported on the version of that one mod I did find were all to do with other forms of unrelated things - modification of robots specifically that I recall, but also other things just in the wrong spot.

If you're using a mod that hasn't been updated in literally 10 years though whether it's from Bethesda's distribution OR on the Nexus you need to carefully reexamine what you want out of your game, because those will never BE fixed if they break due to any of the various updates in the meantime. Why we often say, be careful about old, unupdated or unattended mods. Some will work okay. But quite a few of those very old ones don't even have the correct file name structure any more.
