Maybe there's a more technical explanation for this from NWI, but I saw that it was not beneficial for Sandstorm to have these removed from CO-OP.

That is how they "OPTIMIZE" the game by removing stuff instead of doing a proper optimization. There you go less stuff to load game is fully optimized.

They said they took them out because they're not working as intended. They're gonna come back though.

Reminder that they removed pistols from holsters in 3rd person for the same reason and stated "we'll work on them"

Also I can guarantee that they removed them because of that "thing" you can do to them before the game starts.

No performance issue for me, hope they bring it back later, nobody even complained about it before.

I would prefer if they changed it for a helicopter or something, and also made the AI shoot at you while you're inside it! The truck is just boring and makes no sense, the AI just keeps staring at you while you ride the truck, it looks bad imo.

While we are talking about things not being added back, whatever happened to being able to pick up dropped pistols and scavenging off of them?
I saw no problem with trucks, maybe at the start of a round the driver will go backwards and do donuts but it was hardly ever a problem.
What kills me is the removal of technicals in its entirety in coop game mode. A good squad should be able to decimate opposition with a vehicle, gunner and infantry support.

Vehicles on coop make a good diference, even more on servers with high number of bots.
