Do your optional quests. Lots of good things earned from those.

Armor spheres are mainly from registered bounties. Always have those active.

basically what he said.

the defender gear is for those speed running to master rank/iceborne on their SECOND RUN. while the weapons are super strong, its great way to learn bad habits up until you hit the wall where the armor stops being effective and you have to actually learn the game but now on its on hard mode

obviously if you dont care especially since you're coming from rise and wilds this isnt as big a deal. However, expect the hunts to be longer than either rise and wilds; even moreso when you dont have a decent set yet/still learning the moves.
and it'll feel more jank than wilds as you dont have focus mode and if you have Iceborne, you'll have to use the clutch claw to tenderize/weaken vs the natural buildup of weakspots in wild. in terms of having to plan your moves ahead id rank them as world>wild>rise probably.(never played rise)

also It will run much better than wild thats for sure.
havent played wilds but i finished rise recently. The tempo in mh world is bit more relaxing, so try not to rush too much. Get health boost 3 as a skill on your set. There are also some skills stronger here compared to nerfed version in rise, make sure to read the detail when making a set

you probably done this allready somehow "down this road" but if you ever want try a new weapon try it on wilds
World isn't as mobile as Rise or Wilds. But World does have easier roll cancel.
Get your mantles. Use a guide if you have to.
Open all the camp along the way. By master rank, every camp should be up. Use a guide for their locations.
Do Event quests for deco grinding.
PS4 World has the Horizon collab. Grab the Aloy set. And the LBG.
Aside from the other tips, which were great and necessary, learn to use tools.
Use Barrel Bombs, Flash Bombs, Might Seeds, etc

In the older titles, the use of Tools were necessary against stronger monsters, well, maybe not if you were a pro against the hardest monsters.

World's start to mid-game is so much easier when compared to older games, but it's probably harder than Wilds and much harder when compared to Rise.

Have fun and don't be afraid to explore the game mechanics.
They're many and really fun to enjoy.
If you play the game with the Iceborne expansion on: Clutch Claw Tenderise and Wallbangs are a must, unless you want to have very long games, especially against harder foes in the DLC.
Has been said already but ditto on the don't use defender gear part

You get the choice in character creation and it defaults to the defender gear which is an overpowered start to the game

If you've already played 2 MonHun games you definitely don't need the helper wheels lol
