One heartattack later... we're back!

August 24 - [Bouncy]-|Henky‼|-[TTC] | 2 Comments

Hey everyone,

Quick shoutout to speedvoltage for releasing the SDK changes for the gravity changes, spitting through a year worth of code changes is quite time consuming and this would have taken me longer if you didn't already do the hard work for me.

But man, what a heartattack. In those changes were files in a directory only for the new version of the game that we DONT use!! The worst part is, only valve can normally provide files there so that could have been a true gameover.

Thankfully these specific files aren't provided by valve but automatically generated, so we got them for the version of hl2dm the server runs on with no issues and the update so far went very smooth.

Were fully back online now!

Happy bouncin!

Introducing our new Safety Officer

March 31 - [Bouncy]-|Henky‼|-[TTC] | 3 Comments

Hey everyone,

First of all I would like to say Hi to all our awesome players, its been great providing the server for all of you.

As you may have noticed in games and communities across the world the expectations of moderation and safety have changed since we originally began in 2009. Players expect a safer experience where they have someone to come to if they need help or healing.

To make sure Bouncyball keeps up with the modern times we have chosen to elect a safety officer to help ensure you have a safe experience fighting all the aliens on the map.

So without ado I want you to meet our new safety officer: Scanner.

Scanner has always been a reliable player on the server, monitoring the chat and scanning everyone's behavior. It seems only fitting that we bestow this new responsibility on scanner.

To ensure scanner can fulfill its role its been upgraded with new abilities. Scanner is now going to be more reliable at spawning into the level so that its less likely to get stuck at the spawn of a map. Its also been modified so you are no longer going to get stuck inside of it when you spawn, that way scanner is no longer a hazard to your own safety.

But last and certainly not least, Scanner has been equipped with new medical equipment. If you need help overcoming hardship walk up close to scanner and it will use its new healing ray to heal you back to normal.

Have a very happy and safe day everyone!
Henky!!

(P.s. nothing in the actual moderation is changing, happy april fools! But as usual if something happens on the server that isn't acceptable the usual admins can help take care of it for you like we always have.)

Literally accidently stumbled onto the server years later after first playing this server as a kid vacationing in Berlin during the summers. The nostalgia tears def came back when I saw the map I loved as a kid. So glad this is still a thing!
