The game in its current state is cooked. I was incredibly optimistic when Valve released CS:2, far more so than my friends and other people around me. But 3 years down the line, they were right the whole time. Valve have neglected our community and game for far longer than is acceptable.

The state of Season 5 is an absolute joke, with ragehackers running around with no concern about getting banned, cheating bots clogging up the casual gamemodes, and Valve just releasing community created skins and maps twice a year. It feels like they're entirely hands off right now and I feel like community good will is running out fast. Not to mention the frankly absurd way of rotating the competitive map pool, and ignoring what the community has actually asked for, and instead just relying on little more than hard data for any changes.

If this keeps up, this game won't survive. It's battled on in the past, suffering events like this before, but this time feels different. Large sweeping changes, aggressive monetisation, and lack of communication is really proving to alienate existing players.

To summarise, I'd honestly suggest just avoiding playing CS:2 in its current state. Valve act like they don't care, the community is turning on itself and cheaters run rampant.
