Hello, my name is Raymond, and below is my testimony.

Growing up I was always at church, thanks to my parents who signed me up for religion classes after Sunday evening services. Back then I didn't really know the importance of faith, and I believe I lacked the gift of true faith. Since then I've had a blackout period in my life where I became completely irreligious, and due to a loss in the family I also completely stopped attending church.
Now, I thank the Lord that despite my unwillingness, I was pushed to continue my confirmation into the Hungarian Reformed Church, thus being able to take communion. I ate and drank the Lord's body and blood unto my judgement at the time, as I took communion without faith, unworthily.

During my high-school years I became a victim of worldly pleasures and trends. I am ashamed to admit that I embraced sin in many ways, leading a sinful lifestyle that displeases God. I was embracing the right for abortion, pride, perversion, and saw nothing wrong with it. Shortly after finishing high-school, I started to come to my senses, I've regained conscience and started building myself back up - little did I know, it was all God's work, helping me despite my infidelity at the time.
Fast forward to 2024, March 12th at around 20:15 on the clock, I decided to say a prayer during my workout, as at that time social media influenced me into thinking that a masculine man is God fearing. While my reasoning was rather shallow and misled by stereotypes, it was the best decision I could have made. I said my first open hearted prayer in 10 or more years, and the moment I said "Amen.", an unnatural, yet beautiful sensation ran through me - I received the gift of faith, God made Himself known to me. I broke down in tears, I felt easy, like a massive rock has been lifted off my chest and shoulders. At that moment I knew, I wish to go down this path, to be a faithful Christian. And so I did! During that time I was in fog, I had no idea about denominations, doctrines, dogmas, theology, the importance of all of these subjects, I've gone through countless periods of mentally church-hopping, while I was still confirmed into the Hungarian Reformed Church.
About a year and a half later, I came to understand the true value of Reformed theology, the heritage and traditions of my denomination. I was fascinated, never so convinced of any other school of theology.
Today I am glad to be able to say: I am a firm member of the Hungarian Reformed Church. I've met many priceless friends who I still talk to today, who have helped me on my journey, have stuck with me both in good and bad, who share their struggles with me as I share mine with them. They have been of tremendous help. <3

Leading a faithful life is not easy, one must face countless challenges and daily difficulties, as we live in a world where sin is embraced, outright shoved in our faces; we are surrounded by temptation and hurtful habits. Only by praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and holding strong together can we go forward. We must cast our anxieties on God (1 Peter 5:7), as we are unable to carry them ourselves.

Today, here I stand, nothing more than a humble servant of God. I don't take pride in my work, materialistic belongings, knowledge and so on. It all belongs to God, and I am truly blessed to also have it. My soul, my life, my health, everything belongs to Him.

John 10:28 - "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. "
Romans 8:31 - "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? "
