i normally don't do serious reviews but in this case i just had to

while yes, oneshot is not too gameplay involved, it doesn't have to be! it reminds me of games like journey, where there isn't too much gameplay, but there's still an amazing game to discover and play through. it doesn't have to follow traditional gameplay tropes of other games, it just kinda wants to be it's own thing, and be unique in it's own amazing and special way.

niko is probably my favorite protagonist of all time, they are just too innocent and pure, and the player and protagonist dynamic is really awesome and sweet

the writing and story is both pretty funny and emotional at the same time, and the mechanics are absolutely mind-blowing considering that this is an rpg maker game (somehow)

the soundtrack is a bop and is one of the few videogame soundtracks i actually listen to quite consistently (heck, i got the oneshot ost for crying out loud!)

it's also a franchise i have invested the most money on, with me spending around $100+ on the original and wme, 16 copies for my friends, a niko plush, and both ost's for me and one of my friends
(update: i've spent $424 on this franchise.)

11/10 please play it. this is not a request.
