The Last of Us Part II is one of the most emotional and controversial games I’ve played. The thing I liked most was Ellie’s character development. Compared to the first game, she feels much more mature, angry, broken, and realistic. You can really feel her emotions through the story, especially how revenge slowly changes her personality. Ashley Johnson’s performance made Ellie feel like a real person instead of just a video game character.

At the same time, I didn’t really like some of the story decisions. Killing Joel at the very beginning felt too sudden and upsetting, especially because many players were attached to him from the first game. I understand the game wanted to shock players and show the cycle of revenge, but sometimes the plot direction felt strange and emotionally exhausting.

Even with those problems, the gameplay itself is amazing. The graphics and details are incredible, and the gore and damage system looks very realistic, which makes combat feel intense and brutal. The fighting system is also improved a lot compared to the first game. There are more stealth options, smoother movement, better enemy AI, and more ways to approach battles. Every fight feels tense and cinematic.

Overall, The Last of Us Part II is a beautiful but divisive game. I may not agree with all the story choices, but the character acting, atmosphere, graphics, and gameplay improvements still make it one of the most memorable games I’ve played.
