Are you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Me and a friend are planning on trying to do a road trip/camping adventure thing up to Keweenaw at the end of July/Beginning of August. Neither of us has really been up there or knows too much about what's good to see, where to go, options for places to stay etc...

Anyone with knowledge or Experience have any helpful suggestions?

I am the author of a book called the Michigan Transfer Scholarship Guide: Public Colleges 2007. The book discusses transfer opportunities available to Michigan college students.  Subjects covered in the book include:

Available Transfer Scholarships

Exceptions to MACRAO

Housing requirements, options, and costs at Michigan’s public universities

Available Majors

Graduation Requirements at Michigan’s public universities

Tuition and fee prices

I wrote the book because, after meeting with an academic advisor at my community college every semester, I transferred with the confidence I would not lose any credits.  And, that’s all.  Residence Life policies at my new school left much to be desired.  Credits advisors had said would complete MACRAO did not, and I could have qualified for better transfer scholarships elsewhere.  Other transfer students I had met were encountering similar problems.

It is understandable that on occasion students may be inaccurately advised.  Academic advisors have the daunting job of consulting hundreds of students about, hundreds of programs, at dozens of universities in the state.  The Michigan Transfer Scholarship Guide is a single source where prospective transfer students can compare all their options.  It will be updated yearly and a version covering this state’s private colleges is being written.

The book can be ordered through Amazon.com, Bn.com, and through any other bookstore.  If you order it through a bookstore the ISBN is: 0-9788542-0-9.

If you don’t want to buy one, review copies have been sent to community college academic advising offices throughout the state.  If you do not have access to a community college academic advising office, please tell your library to order a copy.

Sincerely,

Andrew Watts

Name: Garth McKinnon
Year: First year, second semester (started attending in January of this year)
AIM/AOL Screename: MewtwoIsReality
Activities: Somewhat member of Spectrum..Don't atend the meettings, cuz of my class times, but I do go to some of the activities when Lisa invites me..
Lecturers/Professors: Emerson, Torre, and Carlton Had Sinners, but I dropped the class..(by the way, I'm a VisCom student)
Anything else: I'm one of the few (well, one of two as far as I know) transgendered students attending NMC at the moment..Been here since January, and I like it so far..The staff has been really accomodating to the fact that I'm transgendered, which I didn't expect at all..I've lived in Michigan most my life, but have also lived in California, Washington, and Florida..After finishing my associate's at NMC, I'm probably gonna leave Traverse City, and not come back, because the area just isn't good for college students..Trying to get a transgender support group going at NMC (if you or someone you know is interested, let me know! e-mail is mewtwodoom@yahoo.com) If you've seen me around campus, I'm the weird looking short guy with lots of piercings with the backpack that says MEWTWO in big letters on it..Hahaha..

I have no social life, as it stands right now, but I'm really hoping that will change as time goes by.
