U.S. Embassy in Togo

The U.S. Embassy in Lomé joined business leaders and government officials on January 26 to celebrate the official launch of the American Chamber of Commerce in Togo (AmCham-Togo) at Hotel Lebene.

The English Language Fellowship initiative demonstrates how the United States and Togo collaborate to promote English language learning, workforce development, and educational exchange that advance U.S. strategic objectives.

The U.S. Embassy in Lomé, in partnership with the Government of Togo and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is proud to launch a specialized training course focused on combating human trafficking. The program brings together FBI trainers and Togolese law enforcement leaders and professionals to strengthen investigative capacity, improve case development, and support the successful prosecution of human traffickers.

We’re strengthening security cooperation, bolstering emergency preparedness, and identifying commercial opportunities through the State Partnership Program.

The American Corner Lome plays a central role in U.S.–Togo engagement by fostering economic innovation and supporting the development of Togo’s next generation of business leaders. Through weekly Freedom250 sessions, the Corner connects U.S. Embassy expertise with some of Togo’s most promising entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic space where global market insights translate into practical opportunities for local businesses.   

July 7–11, 2025, special Agents from the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) trained law enforcement officers from Togo this week to combat cybercrimes at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Otse, Botswana. The course also includes officers from Cameroon, Eswatini, The Gambia, Botswana, and Benin.
