(April 3, 2026)— At the Thapphraya Meeting Room, Pattaya City Hall, Mr. Poramese Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya, led the opening of the Pattaya City Elderly Health Promotion Project. The event featured a training session on the topic “Warning Signs of Dementia,” with city executives and Pattaya City Council members in full attendance.

The program combined educational activities with gentle exercise set to music, focused on enhancing both the physical and mental well-being of senior citizens.
Following the session, city executives participated in a traditional water-pouring ceremony on Buddha images and performed the “Rod Nam Dam Hua” ritual, gently pouring scented water over the hands of the elderly to seek blessings for the Songkran Festival 2026. The activity was intended to bring good fortune and auspiciousness.

The event also included a lively retro-style circle dance (Ramwong), creating a joyful, warm, and familial atmosphere.
This was organized to express gratitude and respect toward the elderly, raise awareness of their value in society, and help preserve and continue Thailand’s cherished traditions for future generations.
