Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngamphichet revealed that during this weekends official opening of the Koh Larn waste disposal center by the city’s administrative team, he took the opportunity to personally inspect the progress of various public utility projects on the island.
The mayor explained that a management plan for the facility had already been in place prior to today’s visit. The city had previously contracted a private company to operate and maintain the site, but the operator was unable to continue, resulting in the facility being left abandoned and neglected.

Following widespread discussion on social media, Pattaya City officials conducted a fresh inspection and discovered significant sanitation and hygiene issues around the base of the building. In response, the city has prioritized urgent repairs.
As an immediate measure, the facility will be temporarily refurbished and reopened to alleviate hardship for local residents and tourists while a long-term management solution is developed. The mayor confirmed that all restoration work will be carried out strictly within the existing city budget.

Additionally, the mayor addressed the public toilets at Samae Beach (Hat Samae), stating there are currently three public restroom facilities in the area. Pattaya City will accelerate the restoration of these toilets to ensure they are fully functional and efficient once again.
