Please call me Duran. This place has been inactive so I decided to get a word out, for the working class. This Thursday is a day that people will refuse to purchase items. This is an ignorance, a harm to the working class. The products don't make money, the money will be cut from the businesses, and the workers may be as well from the business. This is an outrage, an insult, a cut to the workers. I propose a response to everyone sided with the proposal of protesting by not purchasing, to show your support by buying items you would be in the future or on a certain day, and move it to this Thursday as an act in retaliation. Moronic fools are all siding with this, mostly young teenagers without a source of income in the first place. I am a teen, but I can admit to most people my age being complete fools towards the ideals of a good cause. Help the people, don't fall into this "No Dime Thursday"

I have no communist commentary at the moment. But drop Bush and Rumsfeld. Those hoodlums aren't doing any good anymore (if they were even doing good in the first place).
Before you read any further let me explain that my intentions are not to anger any of Fidel Castro's supporters. My intention is to help promote an event that is designed not to encourage the overthow of a communist system, but rather ovethrow an oppresssive dictator who censors the people, the working class.
My family fled from Cuba soon after Fidel came into power and has since visited a few times. They have seen the poverty, the opression and the great economic seperation between the regular working class and Fidel's "Friends" who work as spies. We have friends who live there and friends who have just recently come over. We know what it is like there and we know that the people are suffering.
Communism is about the people, about the community and about the common good. It is not about cencorship and oppression. It is not about an all powerful leader and prison camps. It is sad that a leader who endorses such things is called Communist.
Whith that said, check this out.....
My cousin and some other young Cuban Americans have formed a group dedicated to helping the oppressed people of Cuba. With news of Fidel's recent actions of the silencing of several political activist they have decided to take action.
Our generation has aquired a terrible mark of apathy that we dont deserve. We hear and read our feeling about many things in our song and prose and we know that we have passion. Now is our chance to show how strongly we feel.
Lets show them that we care. Lets show them that we feel the ability to express oneself should not be denied. Lets go and show our support for the imprissoned and executed men and women who openly expressed their distrust in Fidel and his government. Support my cousin and her group at the rally they have organized.
Attached is a copy of the e-mail flyer we are forwarding. Contact me if you would like some printed flyers to pass out.
In the last two months, the Cuban government imprisoned 75 independent journalists, librarians, pharmascists, and human rights acitvists. For writing an article, reading a book, passing out advils, and expressing their opinions - thousands still suffer at the hands of Fidel Castro's Regime. Sham one-day trials, life sentences, and next day executions - repression still reigns in Cuba. This Sunday, thousands of Cuban American youths will meet at the Torch of Friendship to show their solidarity with the Cuban people. Our families might have made it out - but millions more haven't. Join us take ownership of our Cubanidad and support the Cuban people's basichumanrights. As the next generation of Cuban Americans - we can make a difference!

i don't see why everybody hates communism so much. i mean sure, communist countries don't work out too well, but seriously think here. you're trying to enforce a selfless atmosphere over an entire fucking nation. of course it's not going to work 100% as planned. i believe it has been proven that communism in small communities with people devoted to that type of government has proven quite successful. it all boils down to whether the people are willing or not. if the US was converted to a communist government, all fucking hell would break loose. i guess all i'm really doing is rambling, so i'll stop now.
I noticed this community hasn't been posted into in a while, so I thought I'd try and inject some life into the decaying bureaucracy that is this community (awww...how reminiciscent of my attempts to save the Soviet Union!)
At any rate, does anyone else's blood boil when they hear China described as communist? it's pretty ridiculous if you really consider it. I mean, what passes for communism these days, political repression and a red flag?
why can't there ever be a good world leader? well, castro isn't all that bad, everybody just hates him. but i like him. good guy. likes a good game of ball. and cigars. gotta love cigars. good guy i say.
