Therianthropists and OtherKin Community Journal

Therianthropy is a state of being/philosophy/condition/etc. in which a person identifies in some way as a nonhuman, Earthly animal. Therians' animal sides may derive from reincarnation, totemism, energy resonance, psychological imprints or other causes. In any case, the person feels s/he is as much animal as human, if not moreso. therianthropy is maintained by silvernyte and leswamp. It is a moderated forum, since we dislike trolls, flamers and their ilk. We reserve the right to admit or reject anyone. Yes, you can ask why, if you were rejected.

If someone is being rude, a drama llama, etc CONTACT A MODERATOR. That's what we're here for. Don't take it upon yourself to screen comments, block comments, delete comments, etc. I will chuck the next person who does that. (leswamp)

A few rules and regs: Play nice. No flaming and no personal attacks. Take it ouside if you must. We hate cleaning blood of the carpets here. Remember that this is an all-ages group, so keep it PG at the most. Please don't post advertisements or spam here. If you have an item of interest for therians and you think it's applicable, though, feel free to contact one of the mods. If you're posting a long post or picture,please use lj-cuts. If a member behaves in an offensive way, e-mail the admins and explain the problem, though if it's an obvious issue well catch it. We will then take action according to the three-shots rule: #1. Proper and corrective action by an admin. #2. Verbal warning. #3. Ban.

If you are researching therianthropy, Otherkin, or similar subjects for a book or other project and would like to disseminate a survey in this community, here are the rules:

1. You may NOT use posts from this community, either public or locked, for your research, under any circumstances.
2. If you are posting a survey, you may do so once every three months. You must LJ-cut all but the first two paragraphs (not to exceed ten lines each) of your post, or post two paragraphs and then a link. And you must receive prior moderator permission; failing to do so will cause you to be permanently banned from this community.
3. You must state clearly what the end result of this research will be, whether it is a book, report, or other project. You must also provide contact information.
4. This isn't required, but we would prefer that you be involved in the community. This way members get to know who you are and what your motivations are. Be aware that if your personal LJ posts are only in regards to your research, this may draw more suspicion from other community members.

If you are a member of this community, you are in no way required to participate in any of these. If you feel that any person or persons seeking information is doing so for fraudulent or dishonest purposes, please contact the moderators.
