Hey guys! I am moving to Oklahoma in 2 months, and I need to find a home for my beautiful Calico cat. I have 2 other cats and a dog already, and I feel horrible having to get rid of her, but it's hard enough finding a place that will rent to me with 3 pets. She was really my ex's cat but I took her when we broke up because his family already had 8 other pets in a double-wide trailer and did not get vaccinations for them and let them wander outside, so I didn't think that was fair to leave her in conditions like that. I'd hate to result to Craigslist, so please read what's under the cut and let me know if you know of anyone who would like her.

sometime right after Obama became this nation's new president elect, in all of the excitement, i lost my Olympus digital camera somewhere between Highsmith Union at UNCA and the parking lot across from Highsmith..
If you could please, please return the camera back to me... or if you want to just steal the camera, I would appreciate if you could just return to me the chip - the photos inside of that camera... they mean more to me than the camera itself, and I am willing to pay you if you could just return the photos to me.. you can keep the camera if you really want to, if you have it in your possession and are not returning it to me because you want it for yourself.. but the photos mean more to me than the Christmas present itself from my parents when they were once together.

So we're trying this yard sale again, at my friend Rachel's house since being on a dead end street did nothing for my yard sale.
Tomorrow, I think we'll be setting up around 9:30...276 State Street in West Asheville.
Clothes, music, bike, and home stuff...no furniture, really. I have some home decor, electronics, pet stuff (leashes/clothes/bowls/etc.), etc. I'm more concerned about getting rid of the stuff since I'm moving, so I'm really lenient about the prices.
Stop by if you want to! We're in our 20's if that gives you an idea of what kind of stuff will be there, haha.

Does anyone know anywhere within the city of Asheville that actually has gas? (The only reports I can find have stations listed in hendersonville and waynesville). I have to miss classes because I have no gas and cant find any (nor do I have any gas to waste to try to find any). UNCA chancellor's response was "most students live on or very near campus, tough luck."

Hey guys! I'm moving in January and am getting rid of a bunch of stuff. I will have clothes, electronics, desk lamps, stuffed animals, belts, home decor, etc...whatever comes along with moving 1000 miles away, haha! Two of my friends will be bringing their things as well...one of them has a lot of baby clothes and some other baby stuff, and the other has band tees/American Apparel/vintage stuff and bike jerseys and jewelry!
Come help me raise money for my Uhaul :] And get some great deals as well! It will be fun!
SATURDAY 9/20, 9:30 am-1:30(ish) pm! 84 Vandalia Ave, off Haywood Rd in West Asheville! Let me know if you need directions, I will be posting signs though!
[edit] I just finished pulling everything together and realized I have a ton of dog & cat stuff too...I thought some of you might be interested in that. I have some bowls, puppy clothes, a small bed, a cat window seat, and some cat toys.

Does anyone know anywhere that does hip hop dance classes for adults, preferably on the weekends??
I found a few, but I have night classes at school Monday-Wed, and they all seem to conflict with those times. And I can't switch classes because unfortunately those are the only ones being offered and I need them to graduate. :[

I had been thinking about moving to Asheville. Is this community the most visited in relation to Ashville? Also how easy is it to walk around the city? How dependable is the bus system? Does downtown have a good vibe to it(like people relaxing at the coffee shops and restaruants)? Any other good information you would like to add would be great.

Asheville's 5th Annual World Naked Bike Ride is happening on June 14th 2008, as an experience of fundamental freedom, the fun of cycling, and to draw attention to skyrocketing price of oil and our need to find alternative fuels and ways of living.
Clothing is optional - get fully naked or just ride topless. Toplessness is legal in the city of Asheville for men and women, although people ride fully nude every year and so far there have been no arrests. Join the fun! It'll be an experience to remember forever. Do something crazy before you kick it.

Hi again, ya'll.
Sorry to bother you guys again, but I was wondering if there was anyone in this community who lives in Hillcrest or any other low-income housing development (Pisgah View, Deaverview) in town who would be willing to answer a few short questions for me for a Newswriting assignment?
The article is about a recent shooting in Hillcrest. I just want some outside opinion on the matter, not really anything to do with the shooting but rather safety issues in such developments.
If not, even if you have family or friends in one of these developments and visit often, even that would help.
This article is due Wednesday, and we didn't even get the press release until Friday, so I apologize for the short notice! All I need is a short quote, nothing big.

I wanted to let everyone know about the 2nd Annual Helpmate Talent Show. This is an audience judged talent show to raise funds for Helpmate - a shelter for battered women and children. The event is sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa and is November 13 from 6:00pm to whenever. It will take place in Ferguson Auditorium on the AB-Tech campus. Admission is free. We will also be selling pizza, sodas, and brownies and raffling off gift certificates and donations from the community. So come out and have a great time. All proceeds go directly to Helpmate and donations are accepted.
