🎉 Unlock the BEST of your MacBook — SpaceWalker for macOS is now available too! 💻
Rejoice café creatives, digital nomads, and masters of task-juggling — SpaceWalker for macOS is here to revolutionize your productivity as a multi-display virtual extension of your workspace!
SpaceWalker for macOS is compatible with any system running macOS Monterey 12.4 or later and works exclusively with all VITURE One XR Glasses (VITURE One Lite included). The app features many new customizable options and features to tailor the experience to match your workflow.
For example, we've added keyboard shortcuts that adjust the size and position of the screen and new ways for the display's brightness to interact with your head position (like automatically dimming when you're looking down so that it's easier to use your keyboard). SpaceWalker's virtual screen is locked in space (3DoF) by default on macOS, but it can also be unlocked so that it moves with your head as it does on mobile devices.
Let's dig deeper into all the app's features!
Feature 1: Multi-Screen Magic (Horizontal & Vertical Layout/ Ultra-wide Screen/ Code Mode)
(Just as last time, the videos are a little shaky due to the way we film them, but it's very smooth in person!)
If two heads are better than one, the same can be said for screens — toggle between multiple virtual displays at any time from the menu bar and choose the best layout for the task at hand!
SpaceWalker for macOS currently supports the following layouts:
-
Single screen (a private version of the traditional MacBook experience)
-
Two screens side by side (the productivity power-play)
-
Three screens side by side (a must for stock trading)
-
Three screens stacked vertically (🙂↕️)
-
Ultra-wide "panoramic" screen (great for gaming on more powerful machines!)
-
Three screens in portrait-landscape-portrait mode (for the coding crew)
Feature 2: Freely Expand & Shrink The Screen Size
You can adjust the display size at any time through the menu bar or by using the keyboard shortcuts Command + Shift + Control + ↑ (to reduce the size) and Command + Shift + Control + ↓ (to enlarge the size).
You can also reset and recenter the display to the center of your vision using Command + Shift + Control + R.
Feature 3: 3DoF Lock & Unlocking
SpaceWalker uses 3DoF by default, which fixes the virtual screen in space inside the XR Glasses.
You can choose to disable 3DoF entirely, or unlock a specific direction to make it more suitable for your usage habits.
Currently, you can:
-
Unlock the left and right directions;
-
Unlock the up and down directions;
-
Unlock the head side rotation.
Unlocking just one direction allows you to move your head freely in the opposite dimension — great for simulating the experience of having additional physical screens.
Feature 4: Usability & Preferences
We've added some helpful preferences to make the SpaceWalker for macOS experience more user-friendly.
Additional options you can choose to enable include:
-
Head-down transparency: allows you to see through the display while typing — a super useful feature but difficult to capture on video!;
-
Auto-disable built-in display: turns off the built-in display when starting SpaceWalker;
-
Shake cursor to center: when you can't locate the cursor, shake your touchpad or mouse a few times to bring the cursor back to the center of the screen.
-
Ability to choose to mirror or extend the built-in display.
Feature 5: App Updates & Feedback
SpaceWalker automatically checks for available updates and will notify you when the app starts. You can also check for app updates manually by clicking "Check for Updates" on the left side of the top menu bar.
If you encounter any problems during use, please click on the left side of the top menu bar and select "Feedback" — your SpaceWalker log file will be sent anonymously to VITURE so that our team can work to resolve any bugs or issues you come across. Please rest assured that this file does not contain personally identifiable information or location data!
