I arrived at home yesterday evening. My parents came to pick me up, we ate Belgian fries from a paper "puntzak" (pointy bag) and then made the two hour drive home from Amsterdam.
I visited Greece this time. My hotel was located in Athens, the city where I naturally spent most of my time, but Delphi was visited as well as Piraeus, a harbor city below Athens.
The highlight of the trip for me was the 3 hour evening walk around Akropolis along with my companion for the evening, Dimitrios, hotel receptionist. A kind middleaged man who reminded me very much of someone dear to me who passed away in February. He held my tripod while we scouted for suitable locations to take photos, and afterwards we sat down with street musicians and Dimitrios played 4 beautiful Greek songs.
Though I'm pleased to be at home again, where I prepare my next trip - to Italy - I also feel sad because being on the road and out there is like home to me. But there is time.
(Greece photos will be added to the portfolio before the next journal update!)
