| Welcome to We Are Watching, a community not for layout thieves, but for those of us who know about them to discuss the culprits. Our aim here is not to call them out, make them remove the layout copies, or apologize to the original makers in anyway. We are here only to record, not fix. Not be nice or mean about it, but merely to identify. We simply want to pass the knowledge to other webmasters, because there's nothing worse than having a bad reputation. The truth is, once you've stolen a layout or a graphic, you earn the title of thief, and no matter how much you change yourself later, you'll always be known as someone who used to steal. If you wish to join, feel free to do so. It is moderated, but if your sheet is clean, you have nothing to worry about. Just know our rules before trying to join. And also make sure you list your site(s) somewhere on your LJ, so we can check, other wise have a member vouch for you (have them PM the mods) to get accepted. Be aware, acceptance into the comunity is at the discretion of the mods. If we feel your membership is insincere or harmful, even though your record is not suspicious, that is grounds enough for us to reject you. |
02) Posts you make here will be about thieves you have caught in the act, so please provide sound evidence. Screen caps and side by side comparisons are always welcomed (in fact it's encouraged), especially since evidence can get removed anytime when thieves want to hide them. 03) Points can be argued as far as how guilty people are, but please keep the discussion mature. Back up whatever claims you may have. Don't start any flame wars. If you have an opinion to make, say it, other wise no one will know. The "WE" in the community name means something. Members are encouraged to leave comments expressing their views. 04) Our original focus was layout theft, but you can stray to related things, such as banners or buttons, and even site content (this is called stealing words, in case anyone didn't know). Any theft of site related business is reportable. If you're unsure, feel free to PM any of the mods to check. 05) And most importantly, all posts must be members locked, anything public will be deleted or locked by mods. Anyone doing this will be warned. 06) Make sure you read the posting guidelines before you post a report. Reading the mod posts also will help you understand community changes and updates. |
