About Veterinary Continuing Education (CE) at AASV
In the United States, veterinary licensure and continuing education approval are under the jurisdiction of each state’s Board of Veterinary Medicine, and regulations vary from state to state. It is the veterinarian’s responsibility to be familiar with the CE requirements of the states in which they are licensed, and to ascertain whether the educational sessions they attend qualify as acceptable veterinary CE within those states. AASV does not seek RACE approval for its conference sessions. Since AASV is an Allied Organization of the American Veterinary Medical Association, most states automatically acknowledge AASV as an approved provider of veterinary continuing education. A list of veterinary state boards with links to their websites can be found at aavsb.org/public-resources/find-regulatory-board-information.
