A Sound Bath/Gong Bath or Sound Journey is a deeply immersive experience that involves being ‘bathed’ in sound waves as you sit or lay down. The sounds and vibrations alter our brainwaves and take us automatically into a meditative state where we can reconnect with our soul essence. It helps create the pathway to this place of stillness the same as a mantra helps you to arrive at the still point of meditation.
Sound Journey is a restorative Sacred Sound Concert using a variety of instruments known for their healing frequencies and vibrations. These are carefully selected to lull you into deeper states of being and relaxation. A sonic massage for the mind, body and soul to nourish and clear your energy fields.
“The body is held together by sound. The presence of disease indicates that some of the sounds have gone out of tune.”
— Deepak Chopra
Sound Bath helps to regulate the nervous system by slowing down the brain waves, inducing higher states of consciousness and recalibrating your vibrational state through sympathetic resonance to a natural optimal state of being.
It can help you clear energetic blockages and thus facilitate healing on a physical and mental level.
Some of the benefits of Sound Bath may include:
So, how does it work? During a Sound Journey session, you’ll typically lie down on the floor or a yoga mat, perhaps cuddle up with a cosy blanket, cushion and simply listen up as I begin to play a variety of instruments and you “bathe” in the soothing sounds and vibrations. There is nothing for you to do but allow yourself to relax, listen and allow the body to take what it needs. Some people fall asleep and this is perfectly fine. I will gently wake you at the end. Sound Bath is a very individual experience so I invite you to let go and enjoy the journey.
