Grams to/from Cups Converter
Flour is light, it’s fluffy and it traps air. A cup of flour isn't the same weight every time. Sometimes I pack it down. Sometimes I fluff it up. That's why grams are golden. If you eyeball flour in a mug you might end up with a brick loaf. Flour granules have gaps. Air sneaks in. A spoonful here, a scoop there, it all changes the mass.
With water, there's no hiding. Water fills the space. It's predictable. If you spill a bit then you will notice in the bake that a small amount makes a difference.
Water plays by simple rules. One millilitre weighs one gram. If only bread recipes were that easy! Next time you're pouring water, remember it's your best mate in baking. Want 100g? Pour 100ml. No maths needed and therefore no slip-ups when you’re half-asleep at 6am feeding the starter.
