Going Through My Mind
Awareness cracked open and flooded with sensation in a dizzying swirl of thought, I'm falling and spinning and I'm white knuckled gripping the now as I claw my way back to the external world.
"I'm going through my mind!" I used to scream, as if my parents had any idea what that means.
I felt out of place. I felt... dense, like I wasn't used to having weight. The world shimmers with rainbow sparkles and my eyes apparently see too much color. Reality sharpens and softens with the conscious dilation and constriction of my pupils, yet I feel more than I see the world.
Awareness prickles the field behind me as I feel my mum staring and a swirling stream of feelingthought flows from her perspective. Her concern, her care, weighed against a colder almost indifference because I have done this before. I seem fine, just weird, but that's only a small thread in the rippling tapestry of confusing feelings that don't seem to really concern me specifically.
