More tablet deals we love

There are more tablet deals that are worth buying beyond our top picks above — check out the list we’ve gathered below for more discounts on devices that are made by Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, and Microsoft. We’re not sure how much time is remaining on these offers before they expire though, so you need to hurry with your decision on what to buy and proceed with the transaction as soon as you’ve made up your mind.

How we chose the best tablet deals

There are a lot of tablets out there on the market, and tablets have become a device that electronics brands and retailers love to discount. With so many tablet deals often available it can be tricky to nail down what the best tablet deals may be. When we make our selections we’re looking at a balance of things that include capability, release date, and overall value relative to the size of the discount.

A tablet isn’t going to get you very far if it isn’t going to provide you with what you need in terms of performance. We include several entry-level tablets in our selections for the best tablet deals because they have a broad reach and can get the job done for most people. But we also like to include several higher end options because there are a lot of people out there who do more with a tablet.

We also try to focus on newer tablets when we select the best tablet deals. It can be difficult to find discounts on newer pieces of tech, and often the best tablet deals are on older generations that retailers are trying to get out of their inventory. We include some of these because they usually see the largest price drops and provide a ton of value, but we also keep an eye out for discounts on the newest tablets on the market to see if a deal is going on that makes them one of the best tablet deals of the day.

I actually found 5 early Prime Day Apple deals worth buying
Apple discounts can be stubbornly small, but I found five early Prime Day deals on AirPods, iPads, and accessories that are worth a closer look
Electronics, Headphones, Computer

Apple deals can be weird. A crossed-out price doesn’t automatically make something a bargain, especially when the discount is barely enough to cover lunch. These five are more convincing. The savings are decent, the products are current, and none of them need much creative accounting to make the price look good.

iPad mini 8 leak reveals major upgrades coming to Apple’s smallest iPad
The iPad mini is finally learning which way to hold a camera
Person holding the iPad Mini 7.

A new iPad mini is right around the corner, it seems, and it will supposedly bring some notable upgrades. The folks at Macrumors dug through Apple’s code and found crumbs of a new iPad mini, along with some core hardware details and a visual representation as well. The form factor will apparently remain identical, and the thick bezels seem to be here to stay. But there are a couple of changes, according to the report.

First, the lens of the front camera is moving to the landscape orientation, which means it's now going to sit alongside the longer edge of the device, instead of sitting up top in a portrait setup.  Second, the report also mentions cutouts on the front. It claims that could be a new speaker assembly. Previous reports have indicated that this could be a new vibration-based speaker. “The change allows the company to remove speaker holes where water could enter,” says a previous report by Bloomberg. Apple appears to be adding a small groove in the top section of the display glass, similar to the speaker design seen on the iPhone.

The images come from WinFuture, which previously shared detailed specifications for both tablets. This time, the focus is on how the new models will actually look, and Samsung appears to be sticking closely to the design language of its recent Galaxy Tab devices.
