Frequently asked questions
This pathway is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience in coaching, therapy, or personal development.
You don’t need any previous training in Self Enquiry. What matters is your willingness to do the work personally and engage with the process.
This is a good fit if you:
Recognise that understanding and regulating patterns isn’t always enough
Are interested in working at the level where patterns are created, not just managed
Feel drawn to supporting others, and are willing to start with your own development
Are looking for a structured, practical framework you can apply in real situations
Many people come into this work with a sense that something deeper is driving behaviour, relationships and emotional reactions.
This pathway provides a clear process to work with that, both personally and professionally.
Identity-level work focuses on the part of us that feels, reacts and experiences life as “me.”
Rather than trying to change thoughts or manage emotions, it looks at the identity those thoughts and emotions are arising from — the sense of self that feels unsafe, reactive or not okay.
In Self Enquiry, this is often referred to as the survival mind.
This is not an adding process where you try to become something better or fix yourself. It is a removal process, which is to recognise and let go of what is already driving your patterns, reactions and behaviours.
By disidentifying from the survival mind, the patterns it creates begin to change at the source, rather than being managed on the surface. This allows for more lasting change in behaviour, relationships and emotional responses.
Most approaches focus on:
Changing thoughts
Managing emotions
Regulating the nervous system
Releasing the body
These can be helpful, but they don’t address what is actually driving the pattern.
This work is different.
It operates at the level of identity — the part of you that feels unsafe, reactive, or not okay.
And it gives you a clear, repeatable process to work with it.
This is not an adding process where you try to become something better or fix yourself.
It is a removal process. You learn to recognise and let go of what is creating the pattern in the first place.
Rather than managing thoughts or emotions, the process supports you to recognise and disidentify
from the survival mind that creates them.
When this shifts, patterns begin to change naturally, without force or ongoing management.
A Self Enquiry Practitioner acts as a guide, not a fixer or problem-solver.
They facilitate structured processes that support individuals to recognise and work through the patterns driving their thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
The role focuses on three core areas:
Self Recognition Guidance
Structured Enquiry
Relational Repair
Through this work, practitioners support clients to:
Build the capacity to stay present with emotional intensity and challenging situations without becoming reactive
See and move beyond recurring patterns in real time
Navigate relationships and life challenges with greater clarity
Disidentify from limiting beliefs and behavioural habits
Integrate awareness into practical change
This work is applied within a defined scope of practice and is designed to complement, not replace, therapeutic or clinical support.
As part of the pathway, you will guide real people through the entire
The Self Enquiry Process (full manual and flowchart provided)
Self Recognition Practices (guided scripts provided)
The Relational R.E.P.A.I.R process (step-by-step framework provided)
This is not about having the right answers or performing.
You are guided step-by-step through a clear structure that supports you to:
Ask the right questions
Stay present with what is arising
Help bring unconscious patterns into awareness
You will begin simply, and build confidence through repetition and support.
This is where the work becomes real, not just something you understand, but something you can live and apply.
Many approaches focus on understanding the mind, while others focus on regulating the nervous system and releasing the body.
Self Enquiry integrates both, and works at the level of identity where unconscious identification is seen, and patterns begin to dissolve at the source.
This is not an adding process. It is an unlearning process.
Rather than trying to manage thoughts or regulate emotions, you are given a clear, step-by-step structure to disidentify from where the pattern begins.
What do I learn in the Self Enquiry course?
The Foundations Course introduces the key psychological and awareness-based principles that underpin identity-level work and the Self Enquiry process. It is designed to help you understand how unconscious patterns form and how disidentification interrupts reactive behaviour.
The course covers:
Understanding the Mind
Psychological suffering
The survival mind
False identification
Unconscious beliefs
Overcoming Emotional Patterns
Core wounds
Psychological fear
Emotional avoidance
The Victim–Perpetrator–Rescuer cycle
Practices and Processes
Self Discovery
Self Recognition meditation
The Self Enquiry Process (F.R.E.E.)
Relational R.E.P.A.I.R
The pathway is a structured, supported journey designed to take you from student to practitioner.
It is typically completed over 6 months, with the flexibility to move at your own pace (up to 12 months).
You are guided through monthly mentorship sessions where you are given clear direction, tasks and competencies to focus on. This is supported by weekly integration sessions, where you see the work in action and apply it in real time (with replays available).
You’ll also have access to on-demand course modules, providing practical training you can work through at any time.
Your development is supported by the Embodiment Tracker, a structured system used to build your personal practice and track real sessions with others.
Throughout the pathway, you will practise with real people to build confidence and facilitation skill.
All of this takes place within the Freedom Together community, which provides ongoing support, peer practice and integration.
The pathway is cohort-based.
You will begin as part of a small group once applications are reviewed and the cohort is confirmed.
This allows for a more supported and interactive experience.
At this stage, the pathway is offered once per year, with limited places available.
The pathway begins once a small cohort is confirmed.
We review applications and confirm the start date once the group is formed.
This ensures a committed group and allows the pathway to be delivered with the level of support and interaction it’s designed for.
The pathway includes 100 hours of total training and practice to meet certification requirements, which includes personal practice and 1:1 practice sessions with others.
Most participants complete this over around 6 months, which equates to roughly 4–5 hours per week.
This includes:
Personal Self Recognition and Self Enquiry practice
Completing your monthly competencies
Participating in live sessions or watching replays
Guiding others through practice sessions
There is flexibility built in, so you can move at your own pace within the 12-month window.
Yes.
The pathway includes a structured logbook called the Embodiment Tracker, which you can access via an app that records your practice, facilitation, and integration as you progress.
It comprises a minimum of 100 hours, completed across personal practice, guiding others, course content, integration sessions and assessment.
Unlike traditional logbooks that are completed after training, the Embodiment Tracker is integrated into the pathway and completed throughout the process.
This ensures that certification reflects lived experience, not just understanding.
That’s completely fine.
You don’t need to be planning to work professionally to join the pathway.
Guiding real people through Self Enquiry is part of the training, as it’s one of the most effective ways to move from understanding into real embodiment.
When you guide someone, you begin to see what is actually driving their experience more clearly, not just in them, but in yourself.
Many participants join for their own development, and discover that the practitioner pathway becomes a natural next step. But there is no requirement to pursue this professionally.
No.
You will be working within an existing community structure that supports both you and your clients.
As a practitioner, you can offer your active 1:1 clients* access to the Freedom Together community for $1/month. This allows them to stay engaged in the work between sessions through ongoing practice and integration.
When your work with a client is complete, they can continue within the Freedom Together community at the standard membership rate. This creates continuity in the work, rather than a drop-off when sessions finish.
*An active client is someone you are working with at least once per month.
You’ll have access to a dedicated Practitioner Vault, which includes the tools and resources needed to facilitate sessions with confidence.
This includes:
Session frameworks, enquiry forms and templates
Guided meditation scripts and awareness practices
Access to recorded 1:1 sessions for reference and learning
Resources to support client commitment and integration
These materials are designed to give you a clear structure to work from, so you’re not creating sessions from scratch.
There is both.
The high-touch pathway includes live interaction through weekly Integration Sessions and monthly Mentorship Sessions, where you can engage with the work in real time.
These sessions are supported by on-demand course modules and recordings, so you can revisit the material and stay on track if you can’t attend live.
This combination allows for both flexibility and direct, real-time application of the work.
Yes.
The Self Enquiry Practitioner Pathway is recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), allowing eligible graduates to apply for professional insurance.
This means you can practise as a certified Self Enquiry Practitioner within a recognised holistic framework.
Certification is awarded upon successful completion of all pathway requirements, including the Embodiment Tracker and final assessment.
Yes.
When your clients continue within the Freedom Together community after working with you, you receive 30% of their ongoing membership subscription for as long as they remain active.
This allows your work with a client to continue beyond your sessions, while also supporting a more sustainable model of practice based on continuity rather than constant client acquisition.

It’s a guided two-week introduction to The Work, designed to help you remove what gets in the way of love, connection and authenticity in relating. You’ll receive daily email support, guided practices and full access to our Freedom Together membership for 14 days.
It’s free for the same reason a gym might offer a free trial — so you can experience the environment, try the equipment and see if it’s the right fit before making it your go-to place for growth.
Freedom Together works the same way. The 14-Day Challenge gives you full access to complete the course, engage in the practices and processes, and experience the community and support, so you can discover whether our lifestyle approach to The Work resonates with you.
The difference is that the knowledge and insight you gain through this work stay with you for life. Even after the trial ends, what you learn about awareness, regulation and relating consciously becomes part of how you live — long after the 14 days are over.
The Work isn’t a one-time fix — it’s a way of living. This 14-Day Challenge lets you experience it for yourself, risk-free, before choosing to continue as a member.
You’ll have complete access to everything inside Freedom Together:
• The Signature Course – The Work
• Two live group Integration Sessions (4 hours total)
• Daily email support to keep you on track
• All community spaces, replays and bonus resources (valued at over $4,999)
Yes. Throughout your 14-day trial, you’ll receive daily email guidance, access to our community discussions, and direct support from the Freedom Together team.
Each week you’ll also be invited to join live online sessions with Chris and Tess, held from 6–8 am on Tuesday mornings (Brisbane time). These group calls are a chance to apply the practices to real-life challenges, integrate insights, and receive personal guidance in a supportive space.
If you can’t attend live, you’re welcome to email your questions beforehand, and the calls are recorded so you can catch up anytime.
Yes. The Challenge focuses on how you relate to yourself first — that’s what transforms every relationship in your life. Whether you’re single, partnered or navigating family or work dynamics, the practices apply equally.
That’s completely okay. Most of the time, one partner begins The Work first — and the other naturally benefits from the changes that follow.
As you start to respond differently, communicate more openly and bring greater awareness into your relationship, your partner will often notice the shift and become curious in their own time.
It’s best to hold this as an invitation, not an expectation. Real change begins within you, and that inner transformation often becomes the most powerful influence of all.
If you love the experience and wish to continue, your membership will simply roll into the monthly plan. If not, just cancel before the end of the 14 days — no charge, no obligation.
