Salesforce has conducted another round of layoffs, reportedly affecting positions across Tableau, Trailhead, community engagements, events, and more. This marks the company’s fourth round of cuts this year.

This news comes after total tech layoffs for 2026 exceeded those in 2025, with four months to go in the year.

Who Was Impacted?

Although final numbers have not been confirmed, multiple employees have taken to LinkedIn to share news of their experiences. This includes employees across events, community, Trailhead, Marketing Cloud, and Industries Cloud.

One source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told SF Ben that half of the North America Tableau tech support team was also allegedly affected, with the majority of these employees having been in remote positions. SF Ben understands that remote positions were not disproportionately targeted.

Cuts to the Community

This particular layoff round appears to have predominantly impacted remote employees and positions across community advocacy, content, and events.

This comes at a time when community sentiments have been changing, and Salesforce events have been criticized by some members of the ecosystem for a myopic focus on the CRM giant’s proprietary AI product Agentforce and a general lack of community engagement.

125,000+ Tech Layoffs

At the time of writing, there have been 125,457 layoffs globally across the tech sector this year. This year’s numbers have already exceeded those of 2025, four months early.

This sector is experiencing a myriad of changes, being permanently molded by the advancements of AI, its potential, and what both customers and investors believe SaaS companies should look like in the future.

Outside of those efficiencies and targets, other aspects of businesses are pushed to the sidelines, as observed time and time again across multiple different layoff rounds this year.
