Travel Considerations During Summer Soccer Events

As Toronto prepares to host soccer matches from June 12 to July 2, as well as the Soccer Fan Festivals at The Bentway and Fort York until July 19, please review the UTM Shuttle Bus summer schedule and check in regularly with the FirstView app used to provide real-time UTM Shuttle Bus tracking when travelling to and from the St. George campus.

It is anticipated there will be road closures, traffic congestion and delays across Toronto, particularly in parts of the downtown core around match days (June 12, June 17, June 20, June 23, June 26 and July 2) that may impact ride times. Please plan ahead and give yourself extra time to commute between campuses. Your patience is appreciated as the UTM Bus Shuttle operators navigate detours and congestion to help you travel between the two campuses safely.

If you plan on participating in game day activities in the city, please consider alternative ways to get to Toronto such as:

  • It is important to note that scheduled Shuttle Bus times are approximate and subject to traffic, weather conditions, and other related factors. Shuttle bus drivers are working hard to get users to their destination safely and on time and patience is appreciated.
  • The UTM Shuttle Bus service operates with a fixed number of vehicles that continually travel between the UTM and UTSG campuses.  The current one-way trip time is averaging 60-75 minutes, but can take longer during peak morning & afternoon periods, and during inclement weather.  Be sure to plan accordingly.
  • For passenger convenience, the FirstView app provides real-time bus tracking. Through its live mapping feature, users can easily monitor the current location of all active shuttle buses, with updates provided every 15-30 seconds.

If you are experiencing problems with your TCard when boarding the Shuttle Bus, please email the shuttle bus office directly.
