Many thank’s to I Speed for verifying my ancestor’s for me, also having the time to add their biography’s. Some of which I will have to edit, ( the family I myself had, was wrong in the beginning ). With his help, I can now carry on editing the right family.

Also many thank’s to a Linda Murrells that gave me an extended tree that I did not know about. As we are descended from our family ancestor’s!

An Elizabeth Kinsman married a John Aishton [sic] in Welcombe, Devon, 1767 (findmypast) and a William Ashton was baptised in Parkham, Devon to parents John and Elizabeth in 1769. This is, of course not the William Ashton born in 1710. His parents are Diggory and Margaret as you already knew.

re Mary Jones, I looked up her children's births in the GRO index https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/login.asp (you have to register to search but it is free) This gives the mother's maiden name. The references I found are in the comment on the profile. The marriage between Mary Phillips and Silas Ashton was found by searching on https://www.freereg.org.uk/search_queries/new as was the possible burial of the first child. Hope that helps, Helen

Hi Carole, I have replied to every message you have sent me via email, but you don't seem to be getting my replies.

I am not actually related to the Ashton family, but I was working on the monthly Sourcerers Challenge and found a few sources for Mary (Jones) Ashton, and added a few more sources and family members to other profiles. I actually used to live just a few miles from her birthplace, Michaelstone, as I was born in Cardiff, Wales.
