Here she is, the great @MaryLeeShark herself. In the past we’ve tracked her a few times off the coast of Charleston, SC this time of year. Since white sharks stick to pretty precise migrations, there’s a chance that’s where she’s at now.

Huge shark! Watch right after the man splashes. Though it looks like a large white shark, we suspect it’s more likely a basking shark. Either way it’s big! What do you think? Video sent by Jon Azato taken 20 miles off the coast of Oregon Inlet, NC

Sending well wishes to #AtlanticCanada as they prepare for #HurricaneFiona! Many of our sharks are in this region. It'll be interesting to see how they react to the storm. Will they stay deep or head offshore? We'll be watching their movements closely ocearch.org

After weathering 3 storms and grinding it out for nearly 3 weeks with no #shark sightings, we were elated to successfully sample a 1,602lb #whiteshark today. The fog lifted & Mother Ocean gifted our science team the 12' 9" subadult female we named "Acadia". #ExpeditionNovaScotia

Check out this huge shark spotted from a plane by OCEARCH fan Alicia Grimes near Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. Who thinks they know what kind of shark it is?

A year ago today we met this beautiful 17ft, 3,500lb Queen of the Ocean Nukumi! She’s the largest animal we’ve been able to sample, tag & release in our NW Atlantic White Shark Study. Her size & scars help tell inspiring stories of her decades helping balance our oceans.

Shark number 9 of #ExpeditionNovaScotia just swam off the lift and he was big! The fishing team says he's one of the toughest sharks they’ve ever brought back to the cradle. A tough shark deserves a tough name so say hello to Ironbound! He was also tagged by West Ironbound Island
