June marks the beginning of storm season. Peak season varies by location and storm type, so always do your research before booking travel and follow these tips!
Infographic with an image of trees during a storm in the background with the text, “It’s Storm Season. If you’re traveling abroad to a storm-prone area, be prepared: 1: Sign up for STEP Alerts. Go to step.state.gov to sign up for weather and security alerts from the U.S. Embassy; 2: Be informed: Peak storm season varies by location and storm type. Avoid travel during the highest risk periods; 3: Have a plan: Talk through possible storm scenarios, including how to stay safe & how to communicate with loved ones; 4: Prepare and Emergency Kit: Pack some basic supplies (flashlight, portable charger, plastic bag to keep documents dry, etc.); 5: Consider Additional Insurance: Many plans do not cover overseas medical costs.
Also consider trip cancellation coverage.”
