I'm an award-winning queer GenX creator from NE Ohio. I tend to write character-focused, rules-light roleplaying games with spooky, gothic, or afterlife themes. Although my professional name is M. Belanger, my friends call me Xosh.*

Darkheart Games is an indie space where I indulge my quirky, genre-blending creations, enhanced by the art of many talented collaborators.

I love creating immersive games that folks can pick up and play right away. For me, the story is why we play -- creating, experiencing, and sharing deeply personal, emotion-rich tales.  Mechanics should  exist in support of the story, and I strive to model that in my game design. 

Over the years, I've written for WotC and Onyx Path (check out Ghost Hunters), run massive LARPs at conventions like Origins & GenCon, worked with HBO, Marvel, Paizo, and other big companies, but I still prefer the creative freedom of indie spaces.
