This Community is for a mature audience, with posts consisting of adult language, themes and graphic violence/depictions. While we would like to keep the community to 18+, it is difficult to validate and moderate. This is our general disclaimer.
WORLD DESCRIPTION:
THE ORIGINS: The truth regarding the widespread outbreak of zombiism is as yet a mystery. There are numerous theories, with a few organizations currently doing research as to the scientific explainations
and origins of the initial epidemic.
CONTRACTING ZOMBIISM:
Being bitten seems to be the most common method of infection. Unsubstantiated rumors abound as to contamination from contact with tainted bodily fluids. Zombiism seems to affect only the recently dead.
Two hundred year old skeletons have not as yet been sighted, only 'flesh and blood' corpses more 'recently' deceased. Human victims sufficiently mutilated by zombies do not appear to rise again. Varying stories regarding how long a bitten or otherwise 'contaminated' human has before turning exist, ranging from meer moments to days depending on the severity of the wound.
ZOMBIE PHYSIOLOGY:
A zombie may be killed by seperating it spinal column from the rest of its body or by a direct 'shot' to the brain. Likewise, a zombie may be killed by sheer destruction of the body: fire, acid, etc. Zombies continue to function despite apparent loss of muscle. Limbs severed from a zombie, however, do not function on their own nor as part of the original creature; lost limbs are simply meat and bone rotting without regenerating life.
NOTE:
This is being kept closely to the realism of modern day. There is no magic, faeries, werewolves, vampires or other supernatural creatures. Technology is kept to today standards, unless explained through story development using modern scientific principles.
MODERATION:
This community is for members to have fun with zombie fiction and story-telling.
Though we base it on a degree of realism, let us keep the amount of real life drama to a minimum. This is an outlet for writers and fans to express their reactions to a world overran by zombies. This is not to say that in character or in story strife cannot occur.
It is not a forum to express grudges flame-wars or general unpleasantness. If members are found abusing posting rights or creating an atmosphere of unpleasantness for fellow members, they will be warned and upon the second complaint of misconduct, removed from the community.
Also, do not kill LJ friends without first asking their permission. We have found that if someone kills a friend in story, that throws some of the potential for the friend to join the Community and play. We want to give everyone the opportunity to contribute to the storyline of Zombieworld.
Posts should be primarily related to Zombie World, should you desire to post something out of character please preface the post in the subject with an (OOC) tag.
Moderation of the community is not for micro-management, merely to insure the fun and entertainment of all members involved. These rules are subject to change or modification as situations arise.
