Swedish producer Max Martin (born Martin Sandberg) was the brain behind many of the soul hits of the 2000s (I Want It That Way for the Backstreet Boys, It's Gonna Be Me for 'N Sync, Baby One More Time for Britney Spears, That's the Way It Is for Celine Dion, Since U Been Gone for Kelly Clarkson (2004), What the Hell and Smile for Avril Lavigne nel 2010), and he would go on to write all the hits for Katy Perry (I Kissed a Girl, 2008; California Girls, 2010; Teenage Dream, 2010; E.T., 2010; Last Friday Night, 2011; Part of Me, 2012; Roar, 2013; Dark Horse, 2014) e della carriera pop di Taylor Swift (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, 2012; Shake it Off, 2014; Blank Space, 2014; Bad Blood, 2015).
