Well, now CDG requires funding to replace old PPE and minorities positioned at VICOM/SBS Transit should further benefit. I suppose in the future, this driving center will not just cater to humans learning how to drive, but also for autonomous vehicles as well (calibration, qualification etc before it becomes road worthy). CDG is investing for the future but the (possible) returns will come only some time down the road.
ComfortDelGro to build new driving centre in Choa Chu Kang, invest S$200 million in driving education
[SINGAPORE]Â ComfortDelGro (CDG)Â : C52 +0.7% announced on Wednesday (Mar 11) that it is committing more than S$200 million over the next 30 years for the development of new training facilities, advanced technologies, and operations at a new flagship driving centre in Choa Chu Kang. The investment follows the groupâs successful S$38 million bid for a 30-year lease in Lorong Bistari, Choa Chu Kang, where it will develop a ânext-generation driving centreâ. The new facility is slated to replace the Bukit Batok Driving Centre by 2030.
A central pillar of the investment is the integration of âintelligent driving circuitâ technologies which include sensors, cameras, real-time monitoring and artificial intelligence-driven assessments. CDG said that this allows for more objective and independent training.Â
