random Whats Up.

I walked in my bathroom and found Luke standing on the toilet with the cabinet wide open and holding his Dad's colone (sp?) He had sprayed it a couple of times before I had entered. So he holds it up to me and says "Mom, is this pepper spray?" I'm not sure where he gets some of the stuff he comes up with but, I love this kid. He is so curious and funny.

Owen is sick again with sore huge tonsils and a fever. I think they might be coming out soon! We just went through this two months ago. Supper thankful for friends who have great hearts and are willing to give a gal a hand. My friend, Aimee, ran to the store for me to get needed sick food for Owen. I know our Heavenly Father is very watchful over us and sends people our way when a need is needed. Thanks for listening, Aimee.
Plus, It only took 22 minutes to see the doctor, get out, and get a prescription at rite aid. RECORD!(Friday night might be a good night to go to the walk in clinic.) He has strep throat.

Six and half days left of school!!! This summer I'm going to make a summer list on poster board of things to do and check them off as we go.. ie;
Camping,

Ut trip to Grandma Jac's,

bike soos creek trail as a family,

Five paths

This morning my family of seven set out in five different paths. Mom, Luke & Owen together. Jaeger his own way. Lucy to a friends. The ever excited Savanah to hang out with her friend, Dawn. Brad on normal routine, headed to work. Five paths.

That never happens. But am sure as the years progress it will happen more and more. This morning we participated in the year end school celebration, known as, Field Trip!!
Our destination: Point Defiance Zoo.

Let me put the brakes on my story right now to inform you that the rain awoke me at 6am this morning. Sometimes here in the Pacific northwest as it rains hard you pause and listen because your brain is saying "No way that is rain. No way it's raining that hard" But as your eyes are drawn to a window you quickly find out that yes, it is rain and its raining very hard.

Highlights
*Luke was the Best Kid and had so much fun hanging out with Owen and the other big kids.
*We ran into Lucy there on a play date with her friend. It's weird running into your own kid.
*Luke loved the peacocks.
*We did get rained on, but with everyone equipped to handle the weather we couldn't be stopped.
*The water in the Walrus tank was cloudy so you couldn't see him swim towards you until he was right there. It got Luke. He jumped back a foot and wouldn't get close to the window again.
*Owen is such a show off. It was fun observing him in his school habitat. Owen got to see a bald eagle. (He is really into them)
*I am so glad I got to go and spend time with Owen and Luke.
*Owen's classmates always comment that Luke is Owen's clone.
*Owen's eyes are a beautiful green. It embarrasses him when I tell him so.

My Lucky Morning

This morning Jaeger chose to have eggs and toast for breakfast.
I was the lucky duck and got a double yoked egg, twins.
So I've been telling myself all day as I
-fold clothes,
-calm quick tempered children,
-dishes,
& other chores that...
I was the lucky one.
Me.
Totally lucky
I really am.

Exploring the Country Side

It had been a long day of playing in the yard, kids helping Dad do yard work, baseball, and all of the other exciting details of our day that might just bore you completely. At the end of this day we took to explore the country side.
(Country Side I mean a long road flanked with trees so it feels like your in the country).
So we're exploring and a soft little two year old voice calls from her car seat to her dad "I want a movie."

Both parents look at each other. And might I add that our car is not the fancy type that has the built in DVD player or a portable available to watch. So the parents laugh and exchange looks that a Mom and Dad sometimes do.

And this sweet little voice finishes by saying "On your phone Daddy"

Busted. Of course parents laugh and still exchange "the look". So, Dad confesses. Sometimes when he can't get Savanah to stay quiet, sit still, pay attention or what ever the need my be...Dad whips out his phone and lets the two year old watch a little cartoon.

Pillow Treasures

If you peak under neath my children's pillow you will find an assortment of treasures. I get a kick out of what I find there sometimes. Today as I was changing sheets I found this under
Jaeger's pillow...
-a flashlight
-two bouncy balls
-a toy plane
Owen had under his pillow...
-a flashlight
-DS (surprise, surprise)
-and clothes. (the kid has a problem with putting away his clothes, so he stashes them under his pillow. He thinks he has me fooled)
Lucy had under her purple Pocahontas pillow..
-gum. apparently "In plain sight" is her strategy to keep from the other kids.
-Polly pocket stuff
I am a little surprised at Lucy's list today. She usually has the most stuff. Lucy is figuring out that she can put her favorite toys right under her bed, and still be able reach them when mom or dad calls for light out. I think she plays all night long, because she is the hardest to wake up in the morning!
Luke has not caught on to the stash under his own pillow yet, but regularly check his brothers and sisters pillow during the day when everyone is out of sight. And if I ask him to get me a flashlight he knows exactly where to go to find one.

I love it. These findings are precious to me and make me smile.

by-the-way if you look under my pillow, you'll find two kinds of flashlights. For midnight reading.
