November Happenings

Not much happened this month in our home. Some things to note:

-The boys all participated in the school Reflections contest. They couldn't believe they didn't win, but were pleased with the ribbons they received and ice cream party they got to attend.

(GT #1's entry is unpictured, he cut it up before bringing it home, as it was a BYU/UofU submission. He removed the UofU portion.)
-It was confirmed that I am indeed carrying either a girl or boy baby. I had my 20 week ultrasound, but I didn't find out the gender. What do you think....boy or girl?

-One afternoon I got to see my dear friend Heather. I've known her since kindergarten. I had recently been feeling a little "woe is me" but Hed reminded me that I'm living her dream. I guess I forgot that I'm kind of living my dream too. I'm a lucky gal.

-The boys raced their Pinewood Derby cars...they came in a solid 29th and 30th place (out of 30, ouch). You know, I tried really hard, but making cars is just not something I'm good at. The pack night was fun though. Great set up with a photo booth, staging area, and quick heats.

-We hosted a birthday party for GT #1. He invited 10 friends and cousins over for pizza and a movie. I thought the party would be fun, we had goodie bags and popcorn, and projected the movie on the wall. A lot of the boys invited did not behave well though. They threw popcorn around and were rude and loud. I was pretty disappointed, as was the birthday boy. In the future we will not be hosting movie parties, I guess they are just not exciting enough.

-I got to go with some great friends to Time Out For Women in Salt Lake City. I had a fantastic time hanging out and spending the night with 3 awesome ladies. I'm so glad they invited me. {insert picture of us having a fun time}
-We celebrated Thanksgiving Day with the Gunderson's this year. Good company and food were both in abundance. I'm pretty sure I need to state for posterity sake that Gary can make some awesome gravy. We headed to Baugh's afterwards for pie. All in all a pretty good day. And look how well we clean up...

November Facebook

-It's a boy or a girl. I choose to believe it's a girl. 11/3

-Is displaying certificates where your name is misspelled a sign that you're starved for recognition? 11/10

-Ha! Proof that I can be fun...hamburger cupcakes for a bday party tonight. 11/11

-Another 1000 miles completed on my treadmill. Thank you world. 11/12

-It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 11/17

-Thankful that one out of 14 pictures turned out ok...and also for the 6 pictured blessings in my life. 11/24

-Yesterday I risked life, limb, and fetus to put lights on our house. Tonight they don't work. I think that is really crappy. 11/29

October Happenings

More than you wanted to know about our October:

-We had a fantastic Fall Break. We drove to Pocatello and stayed overnight and enjoyed swimming with cousins. The next day we drove to Island Park and spent the next couple days playing games, watching movies, and having fun. We took a drive to Mesa Falls and West Yellowstone while we there.

-We celebrated a certain 10 year olds birthday (breakfast with mom at the Hotel restaurant, buttermilk pie at another restaurant for lunch...b-day party to happen at a later date)
-We celebrated a certain 2 year olds birthday

-We survived SEP's and had a great time the next day at Planet Play

-We had a lot of Halloween fun with pumpkin carving and the traditional "mummy" hotdogs, party with Baugh Grandparents and cousins, mother helping in GT #3's class, school Halloween parade, and trick-or-treating.

-And of course did the usual: miscellaneous artwork, piano, Cub scouts, school, LOTS of work for Gabe, dentist appointments, picture appointments, school choir, fighting, yelling, stressed out mommy (pine wood derby cars!), housecleaning, and life in general.

Sept/Oct Facebook

-I find this lady really inspiring. I can't imagine raising kids and keeping a house without my vision. She is married to an outstanding elder from my mission. Check it out and like their page. blindmom.com 9/8
-Sudoku makes me want to poke my eyes out. Helping my 4th grader do his Sudoku homework makes me want to poke both my eyes out. 9/12
-Someone just broke the absolutely no eating in the van rule! 9/14

-Another extremely foreign meal being snubbed at our dinner table. I dared to use such exotic ingredients as carrots, celery, and onions. Ooh scary. 9/15
-I resisted the urge to buy this. I really want it for Gunderson #6 though, due the end of March. 9/19

-My 4 yr old is currently terrified of moving (I blame Sarah Fesler Bradshaw and Priscilla Harman Finlayson), tornadoes (I blame Emily A Gunderson) and car crashes (I blame I-15 construction). I expect she'll end up in my room again tonight. 9/28
-That b.l.t. was everything I dreamed it would be. Just sayin.' 10/12
-Celebratory breakfast with this kid. You only turn 10 once. 10/20

-Decorator friends: Where can I find some apples like these (sans the bite marks)? 10/25

-I hate Reflections almost as much as I hate Pinewood Derby cars. I especially hate that they are both due this week. 10/25
-Anyone know where my sugar high is? I've been working on it all day with poor results. 10/31
-Happy Halloween!! 10/31

Good Traditions

Once upon a time my grandma made my big sister a dress:

Later I got my picture taken in the dress as did my little sister:

As the grand-girls got to be about the right age my mom had them each try it on and snap a picture. Finally it was my little sweet heart's turn:

There are only 7 grand-daughters on the Baugh side, compared to a whopping 17 grand-sons, so I think it is pretty neat that Good Thing #4 got to be a part of this tradition. She felt pretty special wearing a dress that I wore when I was a little girl and was a good sport getting her picture taken.

On a side note, I blame my mother for my need to have each of my boys wear the same outfit for a picture. Maybe I'll make my grandsons wear it in a picture, too.
